Would you go out to dinner, pub shopping if the government paid you to do so?

Nope

SchrodingersImmigrant · 05/07/2020 19:48

@ExhaustedBeyondBelief are you another person not shopping physically for a next year?

ExhaustedBeyondBelief · 05/07/2020 19:53

@SchrodingersImmigrant

No need to be rude.

Im still shielding

Been shielding since March 14th, before Government locked us down.

Catching coronavirus would kill me.

My consultant has said to refer mid September depending on cases.
So will listen to him rather than the government

When i do stop shielding, i wont be running to shops / restaurants or pubs.

I will be seeing my family.

Again my choice, so why dont you take your judgy self elsewhere

ExhaustedBeyondBelief · 05/07/2020 19:54

Review mid September

pooiepooie25 · 05/07/2020 19:56

Oh good- I could use it to buy hand gel for my school- seeing as the Government isn't funding that...

LakieLady · 05/07/2020 19:59

@Mycatismadeofstringcheese, I was thinking Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons!

Or maybe Murano, but we both hate going to London.

ballsdeep · 05/07/2020 20:00

@EmbarrassedUser

It’ll probably o to be for those on furlough and benefits. People like my husband and I who have continued to work full time throughout probably wouldn’t get anything. I think it’s a silly idea as it will all have to be paid back eventually anyway.
Your username is correct. You should be embarrassed.

You do realise that many, many people who were furloughed actually didn't want to be and are now living in fear of job losses?

But you just sit there on your high horse, and pat yourself on the back for being able to stay in work

Goyle · 05/07/2020 20:01

I need new flooring in my bedroom so most of it has already been spent. Blush

SchrodingersImmigrant · 05/07/2020 20:01

@ExhaustedBeyondBelief I wasn't being rude. I normally asked a questionShock.

ExhaustedBeyondBelief · 05/07/2020 20:04

@SchrodingersImmigrant

Theres so many posters taking the piss out of shielders and the fact they still arent going out, althought the "government will allow us" without have an ounce of knowledge or understanding that the risk of us dying is huge and you sounded like you was being arsey

Sorry if you wasn't

But you've now got the answer to your question

SchrodingersImmigrant · 05/07/2020 20:07

@ExhaustedBeyondBelief that's fine. If I rolled my eyes at you you would know😁

Frozenfrogs86 · 05/07/2020 20:11

Definitely!

LaurieMarlow · 05/07/2020 20:17

This is a great idea. Much better than grants. People get the experiences and the best establishments reap the most rewards.

It would be better if it could be restricted to small/medium native businesses though. No point if it all goes to pizza express or similar.

labyrinthloafer · 05/07/2020 20:21

I dunno. I suppose I would. It isn't cash stopping me so much as it just doesn't look that good, and I'm not sure how they get round that. Why can't they just support those sectors directly?

roses2 · 05/07/2020 20:22

If companies abuse furlough then I can see it going this way. Companies will have to un furlough staff the provide the service if they want people to spend the vouchers at their shop. Crafty move by the government!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 05/07/2020 20:26

I wonder if it would be any adults and children, or just citizens, or just citizens and commonwealth...

thunderthighsohwoe · 05/07/2020 20:31

Does it come with a free babysitter? I don’t trust our toddler in a restaurant

whoisyennefer · 05/07/2020 20:32

It seems like a lot of money in total, I wonder if it would have been a clever move to give it to all key workers rather than everyone. It could be labelled as a thank you but with the added benefit to the economy.

ExhaustedBeyondBelief · 05/07/2020 20:34

.

ExhaustedBeyondBelief · 05/07/2020 20:37

@SchrodingersImmigrant
"""""""" that's fine. If I rolled my eyes at you you would know😁""""

I wouldnt really give a fuck.

You have no right judging me

Have a Biscuit and get over yourself

👋

Mnhealth202020 · 05/07/2020 20:38

What are the chances of this actually happening though?

I probably wouldn’t spend it on eating/drinking but definitely on clothes etc

SchrodingersImmigrant · 05/07/2020 20:39

You might want to calm down... I even put a fucking smiley there to show it's friendly because text can be easily misinterpreted depending on readers own mood...
🙄

AldiAisleofCrap · 05/07/2020 20:39

It’s hospitality or high street shops.

Sarahplane · 05/07/2020 20:40

yea I'd probably spend it on going on holiday somewhere self catering and quiet though.

SheWranglesRugRats · 05/07/2020 20:44

It’s almost as if trickle down economics is utter bollocks. Who’d have thought it.
