We have a biggish bathroom with a tiled floor. It's always grotty - dp is hairy and gets dried in there.

I usually clean it on my hands and knees with a cloth / wipes but there must be a better way?

The walls are just paint - not tiles. My pal does hers with a flash mop thing. I've never washed my walls!

Absolutely no idea. DH does the bathrooms Grin

Worstemailever · 03/07/2020 21:09

Vacuum up the dust and any stray bodily hairs, then mop. I use moist toilet paper and cleaning spray to get behind the toilet and around the base.

HereForYou2020 · 03/07/2020 21:10

I would get husband to use the damp towel and quick clean of floor when he has dried and then wipe up with towel the worst of the hairs..
hands and knees after he has showered seems a bit much.

SallyWD · 03/07/2020 21:28

I hoover and mop. I think it sounds like much more of a faff to be on your hands and knees picking up hairs!

Iggly · 03/07/2020 21:31

Vacuum then mop with freshly boiled hot water and floor cleaner. Comes up lovely and no stinky mop.

Daffydillie · 03/07/2020 21:39

How safe will it be to go on holiday in England this summer

itssquidstella · 03/07/2020 21:47

I either get DH to hoover it (hoovering is his job) or I sweep it, then mop with Flash or that Ecover stuff you squirt onto the floor that doesn't require water.

longtompot · 03/07/2020 21:50

I use a non rinsing spray, Method mint one for bathrooms is nice, and kitchen roll. I hate hair and stuff on fabric cloths shudders

womaninatightspot · 03/07/2020 21:51

Hoover then wet mop for the downstairs bathroom. It's next to the kitchen so no hassle to do it at the same time. Upstairs bathroom gets a hoover/ wipe as I'm too lazy to carry the mop up.

In the ultimate act of laziness I'm going to suggest microfibre cloth slippers. Spray and then dry the floor up with these. Quite good at hairs.

Toothsil · 03/07/2020 21:52

Sweep first then use the flash power mop

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 03/07/2020 21:52

@ouch321

I have reasonable numbers of ballet flats, sensible boots, trainers and a few fancy heeled shoes but my thing is suede and leather boots.

I have probably 20 to 25 pairs

I read the first line and thought you were going to say you'd stuck microfiber cloths to the shoes and practised your ballet to clean the floor Grin Then I read the rest and was disappointed Blush

Hoover and then wipe with a cloth as my bathroom is too small for a mop!

Qwicky · 03/07/2020 21:59

Bissell crosswave. Genius contraption!

Notcontent · 03/07/2020 22:03

I do the same as you OP. Seems most effective and quick.

LovingLen · 03/07/2020 22:04

On my knees with a couple of Wilko disposable floor cloths, it’s quite small so not worth mopping, cloths are kept in bathroom

bronzedgodesswannabe · 03/07/2020 22:11

With a towel when my kids throw half the bath water on the floor
My standards are very very low to be fair
But hey ho

Popc0rn · 03/07/2020 22:15

Hoover with cordless vacuum, then mop with spray mop (fill it with hot water and some cleaning solution)

Spray mop:

I used to use a steam mop but in a rented place with lino on the floor atm and apparently it can damage lino. If you've got tiles I'd invest in a steam mop, they're amazing and I actually miss mine a little bit Blush

whattodo2019 · 03/07/2020 22:17

Hoover then hot mop with boiling water and floor cleaner

SunSparkle · 03/07/2020 22:21

Ecloth mop - picks up the grub and the hair into one pile and then pick up with loo roll and chuck it. I just soak the mop cloth in soapy water and spray a bit of floor cleaner down.

PancakesAndSyrup · 03/07/2020 22:30

I just hoover the floor and then steam mop it.

Corrag · 03/07/2020 22:32

My bathroom is fairly small so like others I just use an antibac floor wipe. Can have it done in less than the time it would take to fetch the mop upstairs. I do it weekly so there's not much muck anyway.

MrsMcCarthysFamousScones · 03/07/2020 22:36

Hands and knees, at least twice a week. DH is fairly hairy but I also shed lots of long hair.
I really don’t like the thought of using the mop in the bathroom especially as, last weekend, I picked a crispy bit of bacon off the floor and stuck it back in my butty Blush it looked really tasty and I had a seconds hesitation before thinking ‘well, the floors clean’. I wouldn’t feel it was clean if it had mopped the floor with a mop that had been near the toilet.

AlphaDalpha · 03/07/2020 22:37

Vacuum and either microfibre cloth or steam mop
