It's like people have gone a bit feral! Now that lockdown is easing it's almost like people have no fear of any kind of reprisal at all, for anything.
Where I live people have been acting really antisocially, parking all over the place etc etc
The heat and easing of lockdown in sight seems to have done something to some people and it's starting to freak me out a bit.
I'm actually dreading the weekend the pubs open. If Bournemouth beach today has shown us anything it's shown us that common sense has gone out of the window and a disturbing number of people have no care for anyone else or anything else

It's quite unsettling

I’m deeply ashamed of the the British public right now. People have become too relaxed. Going out is fine if social distancing, meeting people is fine if social distancing (I know there are people who don’t have to social distance now - single households etc). But yeah people have gone mad. People are not following the guidelines at all and it will be the reason this will be around for much longer.

The pictures of Bournemouth beach sadden me. I couldn’t bear to sit on the beach this busy at the best of times let alone during a pandemic.

I live near the coast and I will be visiting the beach only early mornings or evenings when it’s quiet. It will be even more packed next week when holiday places are opening. It’s frightening.

chocolatesweets · 26/06/2020 09:05

I think people have been hurt by lockdown. Some more than others. There are victims of lockdown.

MzHz · 26/06/2020 09:09

Wtf!? How are people so deluded

The reason these “arseholes” are doing whatever they want is because of the example set by our government.

The litter leavers are what many people are Like these days. It’s bad, but are there even bins in public spaces?

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 26/06/2020 09:13

I think its an understandable reaction to the lockdown

Really? No-one I know is behaving like a tosser. Common sense is a trait that seems to be lost in a lot of people these days.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 26/06/2020 09:13

I just cant understand why it has turned people into rubbish leaving, police hating, vicious non caring idiots though

welcometohell · 26/06/2020 09:23

I feel very sorry for anyone working for the Emergency Services the weekend pubs open. It will be carnage.

Destroyedpeople · 26/06/2020 09:25

'Rubbish leaving....Vicious non caring idiots'...

So a bit like our government then?

thecatsthecats · 26/06/2020 09:29

I think people will relax after the initial rushes. And a lot of people are being overly cautious to compensate for those who are stupid.

I'll be staying with my parents in August, and hugs will be happening no matter bloody what. None of us will have been in contact with another person or source of contamination for five days before and I've already had it.

That makes no sense. I am no fan of Boris & co. but even if they did set an example of wanton disregard for others why would you follow that? Plenty of other people in your community are I'm sure setting positive examples. Follow them if you need to follow someone.

Again, be better than the worse examples you can find. We need to follow the laws our government sets, not their every action!
lazylinguist · 26/06/2020 09:32

It hasn't. There's never been a shortage of antisocial, inconsiderate arseholes. They always had those attitudes. Decent people don't start chucking litter or spitting at police just because of lockdown (or because a government advisor acts like a twat Hmm).

As is always the case, there is a minority of scumbags , a majority of normal people law-abidingly going about their own business, and a bunch of gleeful busybody curtain twitchers pretending to have the moral high ground but really rubbing their hands and stirring the pot.

longwayoff · 26/06/2020 09:32

Who would have guessed so many people needed to test their eyesight? One slack jawed blonde bimbo to blame for this although his dodgy 'within the rules' mates Cummings and Jephson can share the blame and shame. Not shame though, error, as they don't know what that is.

Destroyedpeople · 26/06/2020 09:35

But it's a point isn't it?

The government don't give a flying fuck about the people of the UK what they care about is big business and the economy. We have been lied to every day of this so called 'lockdown'. Older people were turfed out of hospital and into care homes to die.
Now after all this I don't need people bleating at me about how stupid I am thanks. The best thing we could all do is stop watching TV we are being mind manipulated daily. As evidenced by this thread.

lazylinguist · 26/06/2020 09:36

I dislike Boris and his crowd as much as the next person. But anyone who decides to behave badly on the basis that there are some shitty politicians who do is either a monumental idiot or just looking for an excuse to justify doing whatever the hell they want.

Destroyedpeople · 26/06/2020 09:41

I don't think people make a conscious decision as such they have just had enough. And it was an example to follow in our sheep like way. And we are being mind manipulated. As for looking for excuses to 'do what the hell they want' who can blame them after three months of this shit show.
One of the worst angles is how horribly sanctimonious people have become and how people have been turned against each other. Again as evidenced by this thread.

GalesThisMorning · 26/06/2020 09:43

@Destroyedpeople I don't see the correlation. Our government lied to us so we should get pissed and shit on the beaches? Or drop litter everywhere?

What is the point?

Destroyedpeople · 26/06/2020 09:48

You don't see the connection between a badly behaved government and a badly behaved population at all?

GalesThisMorning · 26/06/2020 09:51

I don't see the justification, no. I guess fuckers vote in fuckers, but anyone who is trying to justify that kind of behaviour because Cummings broke the rules is a fool. Sorry.

Cantaloupeisland · 26/06/2020 09:55

You can't blame people being 'victims' of lockdown for this behaviour- just because people haven't been able to go to pubs or shops for the last few months doesn't justify getting pissed, shitting on the beach, fighting, dropping litter everywhere...The people I know who've been most affected by lockdown would never behave like this. It's embarrassing.

Destroyedpeople · 26/06/2020 09:56

At no point have I used the word 'justified'. I am not just talking about Cummings. You have ignored all the points I made. To me you appear to be a typical mainstream media consumer who has swallowed the lies unquestioningly and is happy to be turned against their neighbours. My apologies if I am wrong.

chocolatesweets · 26/06/2020 10:04

@Cantaloupeisland it's not "just going to the pubs" . It's losing their businesses, having people in big houses and gardens telling them to suck it up and that they act selfish if they dare complain.

Titslikepicassos · 26/06/2020 10:07

Victims of lockdown?!

My area is currently overrun with aresholes. The local common has become a meeting ground for drug taking, day drinking, young adults who end up brawling by 9pm.

The beach is packed, busier than I have ever seen it. People are parking wherever they want and causing chaos for local residents.

There has been NO police presence until this week when a 7 mile dispersal order was put in place. Two police offers for hundreds of thousands people. They are powerless and a small group of fuckers are taking full advantage of it.

We are a tinder box

GalesThisMorning · 26/06/2020 10:07

My neighbours don't shit in my garden. If they did, yup, I'd turn on them!

Kazzyhoward · 26/06/2020 10:09

I feel very sorry for anyone working for the Emergency Services the weekend pubs open. It will be carnage.

I really hope the police are planning for it and ensuring that shifts etc are switched to ensure the maximum possible number of police on the streets. Pointless having the majority of police officers on family friendly mon-fri daytime hours when most anti social behaviour is evenings and weekends. The pub opening days will be crazy and the police need to be out in force to nip problems in the bud. None of their usual pathetic excuses of not intervening because it may make it worse. We need proper police, not some pathetic snivelling police chiefs hiding in cupboards.

Notcontent · 26/06/2020 10:13

Yes, completely. I was just thinking about this last night. It feels like all the normal social norms have been thrown out the window by large sections of society. I am in central London and there are large groups of people drinking in public places from early in the morning, people openly urinating (and more) behind any bush or street. Yesterday I was out in the evening (still daylight) to exercise and first time ever I felt quite threatened - there were large groups of teens acting in a really menacing manner and they tried to trip me as I ran past. 😒
