As per the title.

Is it a false widow?

It’s in the bathroom. I’m not overly keen on spiders but I’ll try and put it outside rather than kill it.

Or maybe I’ll go have a cheese and pickle sandwich and hope it’s not there when I go back.

@DidoLamenting

nonetcurtains

please don't kill/hoover spiders, would you rather have all the flies they kill in you house instead?

Yes, without a shadow of a doubt

Some of you really need to grow up.

I really wish getting over a phobia was just as easy as 'growing up!'
DidoLamenting · 22/06/2020 11:34

I don't know whether to keep trying to evict it, or just ignore it, but it puts me on edge knowing it's there - waiting

Sorry but this is the sort of nonsense I really can't stand. The spider is not "waiting " for you. The spider is probably far more scared of you (and with good reason given some of the ridiculous posts on this thread) than you are of it.

Do some of you think it's cute to be all scaredy cat over spiders? Because it truly isn't.

As for getting over a phobia- there is plenty of help available. Given we live in a world where we are surrounded by billions of spiders the adult, sane, rational response would be to deal with it rather than spend one's life in fear of a harmless spider.

Looks enough like a false widow to me that I'd be wary.

Well, it's not as if anybody's suggesting that she gives it a kiss, is it?

Glass + piece of card = zero contact, so it won't be hurt from the removal, it finds a new home somewhere else outside the bathroom and house, flies and mosquitos get eaten, OP isn't having to share the bog roll with it, everybody's happy.

WhoWants2Know · 22/06/2020 14:00

It looks the same as the picture of false widows that I googled.

Some spiders don't bother me at all, and I will happily let them have a web in the window. I'm not great with house spiders, though, and I prefer to relocate them outdoors.
