To think that some people are NEVER bloody happy??

So in the last week the U.K. government has announced that they will;

1. Put 1billion into a school "catch up" fund

1. Continue on the free school meal vouchers over the summer!

YET NOW there's people on Instagram going mad because apparently the government has "very quietly" removed the schools fruit and veg scheme!!?

Surely we Cannot expect the government (tax payers) to provide all of these things and apples and pears is surely not the priority right now!!

As an older contributor to MN I tend to think that many people actually enjoy worrying, hand-wringing, fretting, if they found themselves not worrying something it would worry them!

The government have said that the scheme is just temporarily paused until more children back at school, and that funds reallocated to nhs.

Until next school holiday when they will be expected to continue to fund the vouchers or whatever.

We use the free fruit and veg as a learning experience. The children are involved in choosing,peeling,chopping and serving. We discuss origins and recipes. It is a valuable HWB tool. Sometimes the product is not the highest standard, maybe says more about how society regards children? Would be sad to see it go.
