AIBU to be tired of the narrative that women can't be prejudiced?

With everything that has been happening, I keep seeing posts on mumsnet and other social media implying that women can't be racist and have other prejudices like homophobia, islamophobia etc.

I know this narrative is not new and perhaps it serves as another way for society to infantilise women and prove they have a "moral superiority". But, it's really strange to hear supposedly well-informed people spout this nonsense.

What?

I have never, ever seen a post saying this. Until just now.

PicsInRed · 13/06/2020 21:44

One has only to read some threads on Mumsnet (especially anything about BLM) to know there are plenty of female bigots about.

HelloDulling · 13/06/2020 21:44

I have never, ever heard this. On here, on FB, or in real life.

I'm on here all the time and haven't seen this.

Could you link to some of the threads please.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 13/06/2020 21:46

That is literally THE first time I have read or heard that so consequently can assume you are making shit up

GCAcademic · 13/06/2020 21:46

Where are these posts on Mumsnet?

TheCanterburyWhales · 13/06/2020 21:47

Agree with everyone else.
Where have you lived all your life to have heard such a ridiculous sweeping statement?

TheCanterburyWhales · 13/06/2020 21:51

A quick search (not sorry) tells me you really only post on threads about race issues and bigotry so I'm sure you were probably skim reading and missed the eleventh billion knuckle dragger comments on them.
Maybe go back and have a better read. Plenty of pigshit racist bigots on MN.

Spanishcove · 13/06/2020 21:54

You are literally the only person I have ever encountered who thinks this. A quick glance at Mn will make it abundantly clear that women can be racist, homophobic etc.

bridgetreilly · 13/06/2020 21:56

Huh? Not only can women be racist, they are also perfectly capable of being sexist.

ShebaShimmyShake · 13/06/2020 21:58

Where on earth have you got that impression?

Iggi999 · 13/06/2020 22:00

What now?

HotStottie · 13/06/2020 22:01

Ah you’re back are you

SmileEachDay · 13/06/2020 22:03

?

WorraLiberty · 13/06/2020 22:06

No idea either where you've seen or heard this.

Any links OP?

Leflic · 13/06/2020 22:13

Of course women can be racist. . But generally we are less aggressive and more nuanced. As women we invest a hell lot more into the next generation ( our lives for starters )and we share much more meaningful experiences than men.
I think we are logically less inclined to see our children end up as cannon fodder for whatever argument us doing the rounds.

Thelnebriati · 13/06/2020 22:25

I hope you wear inflammable trousers.

ofwarren · 13/06/2020 22:25

Ive never said anyone saying women cant be racist!
Where have you seen that?

ofwarren · 13/06/2020 22:26

Not said, I mean seen!

Thelnebriati · 13/06/2020 22:33

Or maybe your nose is now 2 feet long?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 13/06/2020 22:34

Is it because we only see mostly men at these far right rallies? Is it possible that they may be at home, in the kitchen at the sink doing woman work - where they belong or something?

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/06/2020 22:35

Au contraire. The 'white women are the worst' narrative is everywhere.

Melia100 · 13/06/2020 23:23

Are you kidding me?

White women are the punching bags for everyone, possibly the worst people in existence, if you listen to Mumsnet, single handedly responsible for the slave trade, Nazi men, the death of men in America and all trans suicides.

Never in my LIFE - let alone my Mumsnet experience - have I heard anyone claim that women do not have prejudices. Being human they, like the other humans, have prejudices.
