Aka alcohol.

Gone off my regular cider and quite fancy trying some other drinks. I like sweet (but not sickly sweet). Wine is ok but I'm incredibly picky so just don't buy it. I love bison vodka apple juice but it's bloody expensive!

Any suggestions? Sick of watching my dad drink a glass of wine like it's water and sitting their with my can of Pepsi Grin

Aldi orange blossom and peach gin atm. It’s bloody delicious (and lethal because it’s too easy to drink!).

Polish blackcurrant vodka, in the freezer for an hour before you drink it is divine. But again, lethal!

Bluesheep8 · 11/06/2020 09:34

Dry white wine with soda.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 11/06/2020 09:37

I have a sweet tooth. Southern Comfort with lemonade and lime is nice. I don't like gin, it's too dry for me.

StylishDuck · 11/06/2020 09:42

Whitley Neil blood orange gin with tonic. Amazing. I finished my Christmas bottle the other night. My birthday is in a few weeks and I'm hoping DH has picked up on my not so subtle hints for another bottle.

shas19 · 11/06/2020 09:46

Lidl violet and BlackBerry gin with lemonade and crushed ice. Its unreal! They do a watermelon flavoured one aswell

Madein1995 · 11/06/2020 09:48

Edinburgh gin raspberry liqueur with lemonade (or elderflower cordial is even nicer) with ice. Yum.

LittleMissRedHat · 11/06/2020 10:08

Old Monk rum (really cheap, Indian dark rum) and diet coke for when I want something sweet.

Although I'm not in the UK and I've just looked it up and it's not so cheap in the UK! £27.99 on Amazon!! It's £4 here... Grin

I actually drink a very varied array depending on my mood..

Wine is always pinot Grigio
Cider...Strongbow (not cans), strongbow rose, koppaburg, rekordaling, old mout.
Lager, bottles, usually Stella but I'm quite partial to sol/corona etc so I can put lime in.
Gin...not my favourite spirit, but I've got about 6 flavours on the go, and I drink it with 7up
Malibu and pineapple (need I say more)
Spiced rum with Pepsi max, I've got kracken, sailor jerries, and dead man's fingers.
I've also got some frozen cocktails in the freezer too!!

LittleMissRedHat · 11/06/2020 10:20

@broccoliduns

I'll send you a case... Wink

I also understand from others that drink it too, that it isn't hangover inducing. Can't vouch for that personally as I luckily have never suffered from them. Which is, apparently, an irritating trait for those around me! Grin

SerendipitySunshine · 11/06/2020 10:53

If you like cider, there are some nice fruit alternatives, served over ice. Kopperberg do some nice perry flavours.

gutentag1 · 11/06/2020 10:54

Gin with lemonade and lime cordial is sweet and lovely. I also love a spiced rum and coke, or dark rum and lilt.

HeronLanyon · 11/06/2020 10:58

I can’t stomach (literally) wine.
I do drink lager - the colder the better - sometimes with ice and often with lime or ginger.
Also cava or champagne but only very dry.
I used to drink vodka a lot as my main drink. I did last week because lockdown had left the alcohol situation stretched - I clearly no longer can (worst hangover for a long time on not very much at all).

borntohula · 11/06/2020 10:58

Fruity gins!

TooGood2BeTrue · 11/06/2020 11:00

I like Pimms and Belgian cherry beer at the moment.

zingally · 11/06/2020 11:11

You know you don't HAVE to drink, right?

If there's nothing much you like, you don't have to force it down for the sake of societal convention. Plus, it's bad for you!

If your dad(?) is drinking, treat yourself to a high-end juice or cordial, or a nice brand tea or coffee!

That being said, my drink of choice at the moment is a G&T. I've got a nice Beefeater strawberry gin, and some fever tree tonic.
But I'm not a big drinker, I've only had once alcoholic drink since lock down began.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/06/2020 11:13

Vodka,apple sourz and lemonade/tonic

BarbaraofSeville · 11/06/2020 11:29

I'm another one with a few favourites, depending on the weather and what I'm eating.

A bit cliched, but I love a glass of rose in the summer but I do also love a G&T, generally either 'normal' gin or one with citrus flavours. If you don't like tonic, lemonade is a good alternative, and gin and proper lemonade with actual lemon juice in, is lovely.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for an ice cold lager, but it sounds like that might not be to your taste?

And I also like dry fizzy wine, cava or any of the French champagne like ones that don't have the champagne price tag.

But I'm not fussy and generally happy with any of the above apart from the very sweet roses, so just generally buy what I see on offer or from newspaper recommendations.

StylishDuck · 11/06/2020 11:44

@zingally Hoik up your judgeypants a bit more there 🙄

vodkaredbullgirl · 11/06/2020 11:47

I was thinking the same Stylish.

getdownonit · 11/06/2020 11:49

Aperol and ginger ale might suit you?

Kim82 · 11/06/2020 11:50

I have a few options. Vodka, lime and lemonade, vodka, blackcurrant and lemonade, pink gin and lemonade, pink gin or vodka with raspberryade or sometimes I go for Pinot Grigio or prosecco if I’m in a wine mood.

I do not have expensive tastes 😂

Astrabees · 11/06/2020 11:54

Gin, good traditional gin - mainly Bombay Sapphire- none of the poncy fruit flavoured stuff. and I like it with Schweppes Tonic, not fever tree which is not fizzy enough. Peroni is nice if you want lager. If it is arm I'll have a Pimms in the garden before dinner, and a light but flavoursome rose with it. Cocktail? it has to be a Mojito, except when it is a Negroni.
