Would you send your dc back to school in September if there was no social distancing?

I worry about how much longer dc are going to be expected to learn at home considering a lot of them aren't. However, if they're going to have to socially distance I can't really see a way forward.
YABU = No I wouldn't send them without social distancing
YANBU = Yes I would

Yes, I would

Juststopswimming · 04/06/2020 20:28

Yes

MarcelineMissouri · 04/06/2020 20:29

Yes I would be happy to send them.

Chillipeanuts · 04/06/2020 20:29

Entirely depends on the infection rate in September.

ifeellikeanidiot · 04/06/2020 20:29

120% saying yes they would Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 04/06/2020 20:30

Yes, I would actually prefer no social distancing than the current set up.

LettyBriggs · 04/06/2020 20:30

I’m sending mine back this week and don’t care whether they social distance or not.

TimeForLunch · 04/06/2020 20:31

Absolutely. I would prefer there to be no social distancing between the children.

loulouljh · 04/06/2020 20:31

yes like a shot

RedAndGreenPlaid · 04/06/2020 20:31

No. It's highly unlikely there wi be no transmission in communities by September.

MaHeidsGouping · 04/06/2020 20:32

The thought of my young DC's being made to social distance from their friends worries me far more.

LaurieMarlow · 04/06/2020 20:33

Yup. No question.

fannyanney · 04/06/2020 20:33

Yes

Oblomov20 · 04/06/2020 20:33

Yes I'll think it'll be fine by then.

timeforawine · 04/06/2020 20:34

Mines already gone back to nursery and will be starting school whenever they allow in September

satsumasane · 04/06/2020 20:36

My son has attended throughout. His needs mean social distancing is impossible. He literally licks others etc. I have had zero worries about him attending. It's incredibly
rare for children to have serious complications from it as we know from ONS etc

Toddlerteaplease · 04/06/2020 20:36

Yes and they should all just go back now!

Toddlerteaplease · 04/06/2020 20:37

With no social distancing.

bengalcat · 04/06/2020 20:37

I would yes .

MinesAPintOfTea · 04/06/2020 20:37

The social distancing is the keeping groups from mixing etc. So the bubbles. I thought that was going to be maintained, albeit with larger bubbles.

I hope they will not be required to adhere to physical distancing of 2m, and in fact doubt it's effectiveness in a bubble who are in the same room all day every day.

farfar · 04/06/2020 20:38

Yes, 100%.

TBH I wish they weren't attempting to get reception and Y1 children to socially distance now, I think it's neither desirable nor achievable.

BeNiceToYourSister · 04/06/2020 20:38

DS is high risk so no, not unless infection rates are drastically lower than they are now. We are lucky though as we’re in a position to continue homeschooling for a bit longer if necessary (not ideal but possible!)

absolutelyknackeredcow · 04/06/2020 20:38

Yes

pink1173 · 04/06/2020 20:39

Yes! The amount of teenagers out today in groups with zero social distancing. At least if they were all in school it would be far more controlled. Am a teacher and have no issue going back with no social distancing.

covidco · 04/06/2020 20:40

Mine are already back (have been all along, I'm a key worker). I was so concerned they'd be made to socially distance but they haven't so I'm happy.
