I just can't fathom why people do this. Where do they think their lucozade bottles, plastic cups, sandwich wrappers are going to go?

I've just picked up a whole carrier bags worth of stuff on my dog walk (and there's more) and it just makes me so mad.

What's worse, the parkland we walk in, has cows and horses grazing over the summer so these innocent animals could be harmed. Not to mention the amount of discarded chicken bones and other food leftovers my dog has scoffed before I realize.

Why do some have no respect for the environment in this day and age?

It is absolutely beyond me. Filthy disgusting pigs. I saw a man throw a wrapper out of his car window a couple of weeks ago and I was absolutely enraged by it.

It's no excuse, but most of the time there aren't enough bins. More bins, more chance that people will use them.

I read a thing on local FB last night which pointed out the type of people to swamp these places are the same type to litter/have bbqs/jump off durdle door etc.

When the car parks for these places were shut and it was just locals on foot/bike, these were non-issues. The morning after the very first day the car park was open, vandalism, litter, damage. Infuriating.

I don't suppose it occurs to them that there's anything wrong with dropping their rubbish. And they probably wouldn't care in any case.

Last night someone tweeted a photo of a hedgehog which had crawled into a discarded Pringle's tube. The poor thing was dead by the time it was found.

Why can't they take the rubbish home if the bins are full - just pathetic and no excuse. they should be recycling properly and reducing plastic waste anyway

The countryside isn't a theme park. Putting bins out would only further give the impression that 'someone else' would be round after them to clean up and close up for the night.

If people can't cope with visiting places that don't have bins then they should stick to places that do have bins.

I don't buy that either. It's not "put it in that bin or leave it on the ground". It's "put it in a bin where you are or take it home and bin it there".

Littering (and fly tipping, and dog shit leaving) is a choice people make and it is not the fault of the venue provider. Handwringing about bins is a lazy way to exonerate scummy people who litter. They have no excuse, ever.

Yep, it's not realistic to put a bin every 100m (exaggeration but you know what I mean). There are bins within a few minutes walk though and if these people can bothered to bring a carrier bag full of food from wherever they came from, why cant they carry a much lighter bag of rubbish to the bin?!

It's just in this day and age with all the education on plastic and damage to the environment etc etc how can they be so ignorant. Sorry. Rant over just irks me because I walk the same route every day and it has gotten worse overnight since the rules were relaxed

And that's with a 20 minute walk to the bus stop to factor in too. We wouldn't dream of leaving our mess behind. The people who do are just pigs. There's no excuse for it.

We have a serial dirty nappy dropper. She can’t be bothered to bring a bag and take them home so drops them out of the car window in our lovely lane.

Out of sight, out of mind. Doesn't affect them so why care?

Our local park has litter bins, dog waste bins and recycling bins. Since restrictions were lightened there had been all manner of rubbish - gas cannisters (the little silver ones), nappies, take away cartons, bottles, crisp packets and dog shit - both bagged and unbagged.
Seems the majority of people are filthy.

Young males are the biggest culprits, 99% of litter I’ve seen being dropped is by them. Throwing fast food packages from car windows while driving. Opening their car doors and just dropping litter when there’s a bin a few steps away. Walking along with their Dixy chicken meal then tossing it into a garden. I asked a group to clear their mess, they called me every name under the sun, I knew one of their Mums, that’s the only reason they finally picked it all up.

It's the fact that people go to a beauty spot because it's a nice place and then leave a mess so it's no longer nice. I can't get my head round that. It really is no care for the next person.

It extends to every day - the high street, public transport etc. I once challenged a woman who dropped a sweet wrapper at a bus stop and she looked at me like I was insane. Growing up if I'd done that none (not that I would have), none of my friends would have let me get away with it.

You can tell mcdonalds had reopened today in our town. Rubbish everywhere.

They need to put these signs up everywhere.

Unfortunately I am inland and these absolute pricks are having bbqs on tinder dry grassland and heath where the fire risk is immense. One stray spark and hundreds of acres will go up in a flash. Death of wildlife (certain) and humans (quite possible).

Yanbu. They're filthy humans I hate illegal dumping too, the bin service in Ireland is privatised PAYG it has caused a massive increase in house hold dumping.
