I do all the cooking (i love it), my husband cleans up after (a mammoth task because I use everything in the kitchen).

When im dishing up I tend to take the best looking bits e.g. crispiest roast potatoes, best looking veg etc.

My husband would never notice to busy shovelling it in haha.

Do you do the same?

I give the best bits to Dh or dds.
When the dss were young they had a thing about who had the longest chip. I would spend time making sure that they both had an equal amount of long ones!
Dh will go to great lengths to assess which steak is better and will always give it to me. He gets stressed if any food he cooks me isn’t perfect in every way. I love him for it.

In glad im not the only one!! If its roasties, i get the crunchiest ones, everyone else is lucky i give them any at all!! I don't think dh even notices tbh. I always give him more though. Depends on what it is and how much better it is or if its a favourite of mine!

I give myself the best looking food and my husband also gives me the best looking foods 😂 he dosent care what his food looks like but I do so win win

mogtheexcellent · 03/06/2020 12:07

Fortunately DH has a different idea about best looking food to me. He likes well done sausages, I dont. I tend to give nicer looking things to DD though and she always gets the chicken oysters.

I always take the best roasties. But I eat them in the kitchen while dishing up so he doesn't know. BlushGrin

Graciebobcat · 03/06/2020 12:15

Yes of course. Chef's privilege.

GrouchyKiwi · 03/06/2020 12:18

I used to give it to others but now I've decided that I deserve it since I cooked it.

mrsbyers · 03/06/2020 12:21

I like the crispy end bits of chips , he doesn’t
I usually have the more well done roasties but that’s about it. Husband is a food smasher so presentation is wasted on him

Glitteryone · 03/06/2020 12:21

Surprised by the amount of posters here who DONT do this.

I always give myself the best looking food. It never occurred to me to give it to anyone else.

Truthpact · 03/06/2020 12:26

My food never looks good although it tastes lovely. I'm comparing looks to restaurant standards though, so maybe I'm being too critical. I tend to take the more well done burnt bits as they don't bother me and I'm more paranoid about food poisoning than him.

BlueJava · 03/06/2020 12:29

No, I give DP and my two DS the best bits. I take what's left for myself, obviously it won't be bad stuff but I never take the best. If it's just me and DP I give him the best, I could never take it for myself, even if he didn't know it. I love him way too much!

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 03/06/2020 12:33

I always take the end pieces of the roasts Grin

Eachpeachtree · 03/06/2020 12:34

YES I do this!! I’m so glad someone else does too!!

Nottherealslimshady · 03/06/2020 12:35

I do, DH doesn't clean up after me though so cooks and cleaner privileges here. I dont take all the best ones though, that would be a bit selfish.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 03/06/2020 12:35

Yep. Chefs privilege.

MayFayre · 03/06/2020 12:47

I never do food like this. We always have food in serving bowls and people help themselves. Usually it’s children first, then me, then dh if he’s eating with us.

chocatoo · 03/06/2020 13:09

The opposite - DH and I give the nicest things to each other!
