To think it is utterly crazy that shielders can now meet up with people?

At midnight last night the Government slipped out a frankly bizarre new alteration to the rules in that shielders, who have been told on the one hand to expect that they will need to shield beyond 30 June, will from tomorrow be able to not only leave the house, but meet up with others from different households.

"From Monday, the 2.2 million people who’ve been shielding can go outside for first time. This will be with either members of their household, or, if they live alone, to meet one other person."

Further information will follow in today's press conference.

Am I the only one to think this is absolutely ridiculous, and not at all in the interests of "the science?"

They were a bit like a salty sausage meat. I think the minted mushy peas will be donated to the food bank when it's all over.

I thought they were like hot dogs. So I looked up what was in hot dogs. Never do that Envy

I am building an interesting ratatouille tin wall...

I didn't read the ingredients, not brave enough.

How long til the scurvy sets in?

VaTeLaverLesMains · 03/06/2020 21:59

There were apples, but the size of a crabapple although they tasted like a cooking apple, very dry and bitter.

I'm not one to waste anything so I thought I'd zap a few in the micro to make apple sauce (this is what I do normally with non government apples.

Anyway, it just imploded and I put it out for the birds.

I thin high blood pressure more than scurvy.

Cheese and onion Fray Bentos anyone.

Of course, I wouldn't dare complain or be ungrateful and have cancelled the box as soon as I could.

We get what we deserve, what with being responsible for the whole ruin of the country, dontchaknow...Confused

I do my apple sauce in a pan with a little cinammon, sometimes there are pears so they can go in too. Then I can use it on cereal or freeze it whilst I ruin the country.

The irony of being government preached at about obesity whilst expected to grovel gratefully for generous vegetable free box of processed carcinogenic novelty tins and entirely wholegrain free carbs is not lost on me. I didn't realise how healthy my prelockdown diet was, now see I ate loads of fresh veg and dairy, very little processed stuff or meat and tons of fibre! It is a very long time since I have tried to live on a student diet Grin

I did get a nice picture to cheer me up from a friendly sort in this weeks box, that was nice and biscuits are always welcome. I am going to grow greens on the windowsill and maybe see if I can get some tomato plants.

My parents are shielders, and while shielding is the right thing to do, I am very concerned that they have spent so long on their property that they're too afraid to even go for a walk, not touch anything, and keep more than 2m from other people
