Seems to me that Boris has has enough of being PM and that is why he is now saying that he's not doing it without Dom.

Thoughts?

I've said for a year - since the leadership elections started - that he never really wanted to 'do' it in the first place. He just wanted to 'be' it.

SuckingDieselFella · 27/05/2020 14:46

Amused at the sight of many Guardian readers repeating, copying and pasting the same thing.

Groupthink at its finest.

JudyCoolibar · 27/05/2020 14:46

Could well be. He thought he'd take all the "glory" from effecting Brexit, leave everyone else to do the hard work of negotiating some sort of deal, make sure he and his mates made lots of money out of it, and walk away. He never thought he'd have to do any actual work.

Also he's getting increasingly uneasy about the number of Cummings' relatives and friends who have noses in various government troughs, and is trying to work out how to get out before all that shit hits the fan.

DioneTheDiabolist · 27/05/2020 15:00

Boris can't do the job without Cummings, that's why DC has to stay.

Mumratheevergiving · 27/05/2020 15:04

SuckingDiesel - or could it be that the comment just strikes a chord for a lot of people? I’ve thought Boris is a lot of things over the years but never had him down as a grafter.

Noextremes2017 · 27/05/2020 15:04

Cummings is PM.

Johnson's mouth only moves if Cummings pulls the strings.

Sometimes his puppeteer skills are not so good which is why so much unintelligible gibberish comes out.

Noextremes2017 · 27/05/2020 15:08

Johnson loves Churchill.

Johnson likes to think he is as good as Churchill.

Truth is he is closer to the insurance Dog. Just saying yes to Cummings.

luckylavender · 27/05/2020 15:25

Hancock for PM? Seriously. He decidedly average & has a very short fuse. He also has no principles.

countrygirl99 · 27/05/2020 15:45

Seeing people think Hancock would make a better PM makes me realise just how terribly low the bar has been set now. Much lower and people will be calling for Mugabe.

IntermittentParps · 27/05/2020 15:54

Much lower and people will be calling for Mugabe. Grin

MashedPotatoBrainz · 27/05/2020 15:56

I've been wishing Theresa May would come back. That's how bad it's got!

SuckingDieselFella · 27/05/2020 16:14

@countrygirl99
Yes Hancock isn't much different from an African dictator who caused many years of bloodshed, destroyed his country and starved its people. Now you mention it I can see how similar they are.

Clancey · 27/05/2020 16:33

He's looking for an easy way out OP, this farce has gone on for far too long already.

MisDescamisados · 27/05/2020 16:33

Grubby gropey lying mediocrity. And no, I don’t believe Drs told him - in all seriousness - they were “preparing his death notice” as they don’t do that , they simply certificate death and inform those who do issue such.

But a great many on here voted for him - by law of averages - so bed made , so on and so forth

MisDescamisados · 27/05/2020 16:36

@Mumratheevergiving grifter

MisDescamisados · 27/05/2020 17:44

“Quote PrimeroseHillAnnie Wed 27-May-20 11:52:57
He won that election by taking seats in labour areas that hadn’t seen a Conservative MP in generations. That gave Labour their worst result since 1935 and the Conservatives their largest majority in thirty years so who , prey tell, is going to oppose him ?. Is he still recovering , almost certainly but it was only a few weeks ago they were preparing to announce his death !. Ultimately he’s got the job he always wanted. He’s not going give that up. It’s a long way to the next election and Labour have a mountain to climb. That’s why arch remainers like Kier Starmer are suddenly onboard with Brexit. And you call Boris Johnson a cynical opportunist ?.”

Someone’s got a crush 😂😂😂😂

mbosnz · 27/05/2020 17:45

How can he be sick of it? The lazy little bugger has done bugger all of it in the first place!

eddiemairswife · 27/05/2020 18:05

In addition he is a terrible public especially when attempting to answer the journalists' questions. He needs to take a few lessons from Nicola Sturgeon.

eddiemairswife · 27/05/2020 18:07

That should say 'terrible public speaker'.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 27/05/2020 18:14

I don't call Boris Johnson a cynical opportunist, I call him an incompetent liar who is unfit to hold office.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 27/05/2020 18:16

Having watched the liaison committee s questioning of Boris this afternoon it's clear that he's working way above his ability.

mbosnz · 27/05/2020 18:18

it's clear that he's working way above his ability.

I'm assuming we're using the verb 'work' in a very elastic sense? It must be so hard having to do any of it, when you've been so adept at avoiding so much of it, of course. . .

Thecazelets · 27/05/2020 18:20

He was well known for not 'doing the work', as in reading the papers, knowing the policy etc back when he was Mayor of London. None of this is any surprise to anyone who's ever sat in a meeting with him. And remember what a terrible Foreign Sec he was.

I imagine he's a bit bored of it, yes; far too much like hard work - not that he actually does any of it. He won't want to stop 'being' it even though he's not really 'doing' it though.

Lazy, short attention span, wants people to love him, doesn't like bad news, culturally cloth-eared - he's much cleverer and less 'comic-book baddie' than Trump but he does share some of his characteristics.

MorganKitten · 27/05/2020 18:20

Lots of people have known about Boris’ sexual harassment of Dominics wife, but it gets lost if other crap they feed up.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 27/05/2020 18:25

I was sent this today. What a position to be in, really.

Has Boris just had enough of being PM?
