I have ran out of things to do, DS (11) and I have been in all the local walks, I have sorted all cupboards/wardrobes/drawers. The garden has never looked so neat and tidy....Please give me ideas of what we can do.
DS has school work to do which keeps him busy for the morning, we need things that will fill the afternoons....Please help Grin

Scavenger hunts?

Geocaching adds a bit of interest to walks if people have done it in your area

Pick a country, and have a themed day - learn a bit about it, make their typical food for dinner

Get DS to help you plan things to do once lockdown ends, like holidays?

Notsoprettywoman · 26/05/2020 18:31

Can you not just stick a film on or something. You don’t always need to be doing something.
Relax a bit.

Go on a nature walk, identify wild flowers, trees, any birds visible, take photos so you can look them up when back home. Try to spot local industry of the past, maybe in street or building names.

Find out how old your local church is, does it have any old family memorials, any brasses you could rub (quite time consuming) any interesting grave stones.

Re purpose some old clothes and teach him how to see. You don't need a machine.

If you've got wool then pom pom making is fun.

Get him to write a family quiz or get him to choose a country, research the food, plan a menu and write a shopping list for him to cook/you to cook together once a week, get him to come up with a timetable of activities he'd like to do!

Find a virtual running challenge to do for a medal.
If he has a microbit he could design a new game.
Find a children’s writing competition to enter.
Play a strategy board game.
Decorate a room.
Buy wipe cleanable chalk markers and decorate a window.
Build a den. I’ve discovered that even though my children are older now they still love den building!
Design and make smoothies.
Design a quiz using google forms and send it to all your family to try.
Write a letter to someone.
Have a drawing competition.
Do some Just Dance videos from YouTube.
