So a 60 mile round trip to see if you are fit to do a longer trip is an essential journey now? This makes it even worse as he was not ill then!

MarshaBradyo · 25/05/2020 16:59

Of course he doesn’t have to ‘check with his boss’

Polkadotdelight · 25/05/2020 16:59

Go Beth!

Howaboutanewname · 25/05/2020 16:59

What a fucking narcissistic idiot. He needs to apologise and then resign. There is no other acceptable outcome.

EveryoneLoves09876 · 25/05/2020 16:59

@PerkingFaintly yep was with him then the blatant lies started.

tobee · 25/05/2020 17:00

The media wouldn't be reacting like this if the population weren't so pissed off

ludothedog · 25/05/2020 17:00

Is he fuck coming across well. He's clearly lying about other trips are and completely feeling justified in his actions and unsympathetic towards others. Still no apology

OldLace · 25/05/2020 17:00

Beth Rigby is nailing it.
Why are you different? Why wont you say sorry?
He just fucking WON'T, will he?
'how can you even countenance staying on and not resigning'?

Stop blaming the media. I'm a voter. I can judge for myself.
You need to resign!!!

ChicCroissant · 25/05/2020 17:00

He's not going to apologise, he just keeps circling back to the point that he thinks he's acted reasonably and legally.

JasperRising · 25/05/2020 17:00

Has anyone asked why, if these were exceptional circumstances and allowed, his wife covered it up in her media pieces about the experience of having Covid-19?

LouHotel · 25/05/2020 17:00

The posts on this thread against the media show exactly how those will go. This man is the architect of Trump Britain, make the people against the free press.

merrymouse · 25/05/2020 17:00

He keeps blaming the media, but he hasn't said anything that hasn't said anything that hasn't been reported, except that he used local hospital services, which arguably makes it worse.

itdoesnthavetobefun · 25/05/2020 17:00

It's not exceptional circumstances to be worried that there may be exceptional circumstances...

Why is no-one challenging that point!

madroid · 25/05/2020 17:00

‘My son needed a wee, and so we took an hour or so to play in the woods... we also went to visit a castle to ensure I am not indeed blind’

FurForksSake · 25/05/2020 17:00

Why did he need to test his eyes with a short journey when he had already driven the same distance to the hospital? Was he telling us that he was risking other road users, his wife and child by driving? Driving when he had gone all that way specifically so people could help him with that situation?

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 25/05/2020 17:00

Why is nobody asking some of the more obvious and basic questions?

Haggisfish · 25/05/2020 17:00

Gosh yes he’s so important.

Bluntness100 · 25/05/2020 17:00

This is making me really uncomfortable.

I just think the man made a decision, agree with it or don’t, but there is no need for this media circus.

Sarahlou63 · 25/05/2020 17:00

Is there no one else in Downing Street other than Johnson and Cummings?? No one he could have mentioned his rule breaking plan to? What a load of bollocks!

Aridane · 25/05/2020 17:00

Agree or disagree but hurling abuse is not ok.

The criticism is well deserved

LonginesPrime · 25/05/2020 17:01

What's the point of having people like me around?

Yes, Dominic, we're all wondering that too!

AnneKipanki · 25/05/2020 17:01

Beth works for Sky .

Lemonylemony · 25/05/2020 17:01

Ok. Here’s what we actually care about. What BJ knew, when, when he bothered to find out more about it.

CoolCarrie · 25/05/2020 17:01

Have I Got News For You and Private Eye will have a field day with this! Bloody fool and he needs to resign. Does anyone know if he would have signed the official secrets act?

GalOopNorth · 25/05/2020 17:01

Wow. Great question
