Ah I miss Sir TP so much! Getting Nightwatch for an Xmas present one year, didnt speak to my family the whole day.... best DW book ever.

NorthernChinchilla · 25/05/2020 16:06

We've had boiled eggs today too!

WiddlinDiddlin · 25/05/2020 16:07

Lilac towels... it's the only way.

Reporting in after accidentally starting my own thread accidentally!

And I didn't even get my hard boiled egg.

Two accidentallys in one sentence, serves me right for mumsnetting while supervising children in a paddling pool. Blush

I have one perfect spray of flowers on my lilac tree.

I shall raise a glass to Pterry and remember those who’ve gone before us.

Wearing and smelling the lilac today. Too hot for a dressing gown but there in spirit.
RIP STP & DA. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Great to see so many PTerry fans here :)

AdoptedBumpkin · 25/05/2020 21:01

I've not read Discworld, which perhaps explains why I don't own anything lilac.

Didactylos · 25/05/2020 22:01

I dont own anything lilac either

but in a spirit of rebellion this morning I climbed the fence and liberated a lovely sprig of our neighbours plant
and wore it in my cycle helmet to work
(makes a spanking plume, though you cant eat it)

luckily the streets are pretty empty because of lockdown.

My lilac stopped flowering well before
today! But remembering Sir Pterry and Douglas Adams. I’ve got my towel with me. Greatly missed hoopy froods whi have been a part of my life for so long and a great comfort in dark times. GNU.

I had my boiled egg but I had no lilac to wear today. I will definitely plant a lilac tree later this year.
