I shall wear the lilac. Night Watch is my absolute favourite. RIP Sir TP.

I met him in a pub in Bristol once in 1994. It was an organised meeting with a small youth group of around 20. He was as eccentric as you’d expect. He wore a cloak and floppy black hat. 😍

SlowDown76mph · 25/05/2020 10:20

How do they rise up...

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/05/2020 10:32

In Memorium of pterry, forever in the overhead.

MrsIronfoundersson · 25/05/2020 10:37

Me too Floyd. RIP Sir Terry.

MollyAtTheFolly · 25/05/2020 10:47

I'm fondly imagining your children as Anathema, Ptraci and Moist, olives Grin

I'm wearing a lilac vest and thinking of all those untold stories. I genuinely do imagine Discworld as an actual place that is now frozen somewhere in the universe without its magic (TP) bringing it to life.

I also know where my towel is.

Bought one of these not that long ago

Sir Terry have my little cousin (who was about 4 at the time) a £1 to buy sweets. I was going to a book signing (Soul Music) and because of last minute family troubles, ended up having to take him along. Because Sir Terry was happy to chat with his fans as they got their books signed, the queue was long and slow moving. I kept having to promise my cousin that id take him to the sweet shop as soon as we got my book signed. When we got to the front of the queue, my cousin looked up at me and in dismay exclaimed “oh no! All the sweets have already gone!” I laughed and explained that we’d have to go to another shop and Sir Terry heard, and dug a £1 out of his pocket and gave it to my cousin for being so well behaved. Then they chatted about what sweets his was going to buy while I stood by totally star struck!

RIP Sir Terry 😭

(I'm on the thread already, this is one of my spare names)

No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away, until the clock wound up winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life is only the core of their actual existence.

LBOCS2 · 25/05/2020 12:06

My lilac has been and gone but I can manage the hard boiled egg today.

GNU pterry.

Becles · 25/05/2020 12:11

WithASpider · 25/05/2020 12:11

Ds and fil both loved the Discworld books. Ds (24) is wearing purple pants in memory of both of them.

If you weren't there....

WitchDancer · 25/05/2020 15:59

GNU Sir Terry Pratchett

I met him at a book signing many years ago and although the queue was massive he made me feel like I was the only person he'd seen that day. Sadly missed for sure.

My son is now reading Guards Guards and really enjoying it.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 25/05/2020 16:01

Damn my hay fever.

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 25/05/2020 16:02

As my username indicates, I'm always there in spirit - and yes, I'm wearing the lilac today in honour of those who've gone before us...

USirName · 25/05/2020 16:04
