To think disney+ is a bit expensive for what you get for £5 every single month

It has some good content and its high quality, but seems less than netflix and honestly I'm not sure I'll be continuing it. I thought we'd use it alot, but just havent. Anyone else finding it not that good?

I got the one year for £49 subscription and its totally worth it for me.

3 year old twins love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and the films, so if we need a half hour of keeping them quiet it's a sure fire way to achieve that.

As a Disney Parks fan I've been loving One Day at disney, Disney Fairytale Weddings, The Imagineering Show... And a lot of other similar content.

And as they have moved up the release of Hamilton to July I'm absolutely extatic as it was originally going to be held until 2021. A recording of the original cast, pieced together from the recording of 3 consecutive shows..... It wouldn't surprise me if there was an associated bio show alongside it...the subscription fee was worth it for Hamilton alone!!

Me and my family are loving it. My DS is enjoying the marvel films and I am enjoying watching some TV shows and films I watched as a child. Plus you can have it on 4 devices which is great.

wonderstuff · 22/05/2020 20:32

Kids have watched it a lot, much more than Netflix and Amazon. Simpsons constantly on. I'm excited to see Hamilton in the summer. We got it at £50 at the pre launch rate.

mum2jakie · 22/05/2020 20:36

I'm loving watching old classics and it's been a godsend for weekends over lockdown. I think it's great value for money.

Sindragosan · 22/05/2020 20:36

Its been worth every penny during lockdown, if things go back to 'normal' probably won't bother with continuing.

Bleepbloopblarp · 22/05/2020 20:40

It’s been worth it for us just for keeping dd14 occupied through lockdown - she’s been watching all her old faves like Victorious, The suite life etc - she’s in heaven!

MehMehMeow · 22/05/2020 20:46

I’m disappointed, we’ve rewatched the marvel films, seen some old classics but there’s just not enough to keep us coming back. I’m hoping they bring Hulu into it, but still doubt we’ll be renewing after our annual package. We already have Prime, Sky and Netflix so it’s got tough competition

Pleasenodont · 22/05/2020 20:48

Cancelled ours after the first month, my DC just have very little interest in Disney. We watched three films I think so yes, it was a waste for us.

HandInGove · 22/05/2020 20:49

Nat Geo is better than I thought for nature docs, One Strange Rock with Will Smith interviewing astronauts is beautiful. We’ve probably finished all of the Disney films though so don’t know if we’ll keep it on but it’s been great for now.

amusedbush · 22/05/2020 20:49

I cancelled before the free trial was up - I wasn’t impressed.

PeggyJarvis · 22/05/2020 20:51

It’s worth it for the Mandolorian alone! We were waiting months for the Mandolorian. Can’t wait for some of the Marvel series due too, like Loki, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It’s worth it for National Geographic too.

Shutupanddance1 · 22/05/2020 20:52

I’ve a 4 and 2 year old who are Disney Princess mad - it’s never off!!

Idontbelieveit12 · 22/05/2020 20:55

We like it as you can download the films and programmes. We’ve been doing some pretty long walks and once our 3 year old is tired of walking he goes in the buggy and sometimes watches Mickey Mouse clubhouse on his tablet 😂

LaurieFairyCake · 22/05/2020 20:59

I have Netflix, Prime, Now and Disney, plus BBC

This equals £42

A decade ago I was paying £82 for Sky Shock

So much better value now

oblada · 22/05/2020 21:00

The kids love it. We don't encourage mindless TV and normally they rarely watch anything but at the moment they watch 1 movie per day most days given we are both wft at home. Most of those movies have been on Disney+. I've watched a few with them too, like the Alice in wonderland movies, which were great.
We're with virgin and with an old smart TV so cannot get it direct on it but we have the amazon fire stick on it which makes it work.

milkjetmum · 22/05/2020 21:00

Planning to sign up just for Hamilton! Had received April 2020 London tickets from dh as a Christmas gift...

Interesting to hear that it's not that great, will probably go monthly now was previously planning to pay for the year in July.

oblada · 22/05/2020 21:01

Oh and yes National Geographic too!

BarbaraofSeville · 22/05/2020 21:21

YANBU, a fiver for all those films, National Geographic etc, total rubbish when you could pay a fiver to Mumsnet for a blink and you'll miss it edit function and slightly fewer adverts, which I'm sure you'll all agree is far better value.

crustycrab · 22/05/2020 21:46

It's a total bargain. I lose more money down the side of the sofa most days

Wobblysausage · 22/05/2020 21:51

It’s absolutely crap. Dd doesn’t even watch it! I paid for the year though so can’t cancel. I won’t be renewing it when the years up.

switswoo81 · 22/05/2020 22:00

Did not know about Hamilton brilliant.
My two dds love it. We have watched all the princess movies and they loved the Family Singalong.

We get prime free with our internet provider and I'm not a bit impressed.

Summerofdespair20 · 23/05/2020 00:26

My kids love it. I dont watch it, Netflix suits me.

FoxInABox · 23/05/2020 03:14

I paid for the year thinking we would use it a lot, but a lot of the films we have watched on Sky in recent months anyway, and the newer content isn’t available in the UK despite being available in the US, seems disappointing they touted some releases as brought forward to help with lockdown boredom, yet only in the US. DH and DD have watched the Mandalorian, we’ve all watched some classic simpsons together, and I’ve enjoyed the Imagineers series but we haven’t used it at all the past two weeks. I love Disney but thought we would get more out of it as a family.
