To think disney+ is a bit expensive for what you get for £5 every single month

It has some good content and its high quality, but seems less than netflix and honestly I'm not sure I'll be continuing it. I thought we'd use it alot, but just havent. Anyone else finding it not that good?

We got the special offer for the year too and I think it’s well worth it. Kids love Disney and Pixar and we can’t wait for Hamilton!

Invisimamma · 22/05/2020 17:09

I think it's pretty good value, if you watch even one movie per month it's paid for itself. (at around £5 to rent, or even more to buy a Disney movie elsewhere).

We might cancel after lockdown but at the moment it's keeping us entertained when we've exhausted a lot of the good movies on Netflix and prime.

LauraJohnson1989 · 22/05/2020 17:12

Are you on benefits it’s basically free

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 22/05/2020 17:22

LauraJohnson1989

You dont have to be on benefits to want value out of the £5-7 you are spending each month.

Dont be a dick.

TheGinGenie · 22/05/2020 17:23

Hamilton is coming on 3 July. I'd pay £50 just to watch that

BluntAndToThePoint80 · 22/05/2020 17:25

I bought it on offer and love it for our kids - 1 and 4.

I think it depends on the ages of those in your house. I can see those with teenage kids/adults in the house not getting much out of it but we love it.

Wendigogo · 22/05/2020 17:26

I didn't think I'd get much use out of it but gave it a go.

Will be cancelling this month (but persevering with Netflix and Prime).

WindFlower92 · 22/05/2020 17:27

How is everyone watching it? Can you just get it on your tv?

runwithme · 22/05/2020 17:28

I'd love to have it but we can get in on our apparently. We are with virgin and you cant get it with them

CottonSock · 22/05/2020 17:29

I signed up yesterday. I told the kids it's for one month only.

Poptart4 · 22/05/2020 17:29

YABU for saying it's too expensive. But YANBU for being disappointed with it.

I got the yearly subscription on offer so cheap enough but I wont subscribe for a 2nd year unless they start adding new content.

Geometricprince · 22/05/2020 17:31

I'm also keeping it for Hamilton, I do think there's some good content on there though, just don't get round to watching it.

Mydoglicksplates · 22/05/2020 17:31

I love it as no contract and has more movies I like than Netflix or Prime. I'm also going to cancel prime, I just don't think it's worth it. I like that everything on Disney is included like Netflix although if money become tight Disney will go before Netflix.

MinkowskisButterfly · 22/05/2020 17:33

I'll be keeping it, only got it for dd2(5) as she is obsessed with disney princess films (old and new), she will happily watch a select few over and over and it makes her happy (and gives me a small break!) - we don't have a smart tv and only a now tv stick so only accessible on tablets and phones. For me it definitely has been worth £6 a month. Netflix on the other hand I barely watch anymore (i think dh might watch it a bit occasionally) but definitely not worth the £10 or whatever we pay a month.

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 22/05/2020 17:37

But you can just have it for one month? It's definitely worth a fiver, some of the films on there are about a fiver to rent from sky.

RuggerHug · 22/05/2020 17:39

I was getting worried no one was going to mention Hamilton!GrinGrin

LittleRa · 22/05/2020 17:41

It’s been well worth it for us, especially through lockdown, I probably would’ve paid £50 a month rather than a year! It’s half the price of Netflix. DP and I watch more Netflix once 6yo DD is in bed, but she’s watched so many classic and new Disney films, over and over too. Before Disney+ I was buying individual Disney films on Google Play.

DisneyMillie · 22/05/2020 17:43

It’s perfect for our 4 year old and 10 year old daughters - we get such good value from it

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 22/05/2020 17:46

We are with Virgin too. We have the app on our phones, and a Chromecast plugged into the tv. We can play the app stuff through the Chromecast onto the telly.

Happierlife · 22/05/2020 17:50

Hamilton is an added bonus for me now. Just started watching the mandalorian last night. Restricted in internet at the moment but got other family and friend using my account.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 22/05/2020 17:52

It's been worth every penny for us during lockdown.
Little one currently watching Finding Nemo.
Older one has been watching all the Simpsons.
DP watching the Mandolorian and we started the Marvel films again.

There are some great documentary series too.
I've used it far more than netflix.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/05/2020 17:55

I think in time its value will become evident, due to first dibs on Marvel and Star Wars.

Its not a great start, but neither has Apple had a great start and I can see them both becoming essential in the longterm.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 22/05/2020 17:58

We get it through the PS4

masonmason · 22/05/2020 18:33

Yes there is less content than Netflix but also it costs less then Netflix so not sure that's a fair comparison.

It's worth every penny to me because HAMILTON
