Just been out to a small shop to pick up some food. They deliver, but I don't want to take a slot of someone vulnerable.

OP posts:

Oh and thanks for the congrats. I’m stupid, but I’m also special.

shookbelves · 22/05/2020 16:04

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 22/05/2020 16:09

Well you posted on another thread that you firmly believe that in these times we have to put ourselves first and think of others second

Lmaooooooo! oh dear OP- I am embarrassed for you 😂

RainMustFall · 22/05/2020 16:20

What?

Autumnsloth · 22/05/2020 16:23

Happy birthday Ninkanik (have you sung it to yourself while washing your hands?)

OP we must live in the same small village because I swear I saw all of MN in a shop earlier on, buying up all the prosecco and toilet brushes.

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/05/2020 16:23

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/05/2020 16:24

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/05/2020 16:25

OP did your sister go to the beach the other day and complain that lots of people went to the beach?

mogloveseggs · 22/05/2020 16:27

Happy birthday NinksFlowersCakeGinWine

Gingerkittykat · 22/05/2020 16:57

What's truly stupid is lecturing strangers in public (no doubt aggressively, you don't seem to have great interpersonal skills) and expecting them to bow down, see the error of their ways and then do what you tell them to do.

HannaYeah · 22/05/2020 16:57

@Ninkanink Flowers
Happy Birthday! Wine

(Not sure how we know it’s your birthday and hope the thread is up long enough for me to find out!

Also “Jane’s Thread” is one of my favorite songs.

HannaYeah · 22/05/2020 16:57

Here is the end parentheses)

Sodamncold · 22/05/2020 16:59

I had to check the date the OP posted

Today! I thought maybe a thread from 4 weeks ago.

So dull.

@RusticaRubra Just been out to a small shop to pick up some food. They deliver, but I don't want to take a slot of someone vulnerable.

Instead you'd prefer to risk passing the virus on to someone vulnerable who has to work because they can't afford not to.

OMG I can't stop laughing GrinGrin

grumpyorange · 22/05/2020 17:18

Congratulations?? Not sure what you want to hear?

I get delivery slots because they are available 🤷🏼‍♀️

mumwon · 22/05/2020 17:22

as a vulnerable (gerund hey!) I discovered that we could get priority by phoning Tesco & explaining our situation & thank goodness we are now able to get slots. However other people need slots to - as pp stated having v young children, with no personal transport or more than one child or being a long way from a supermarket & no personal transport, difficulty with carrying goods or walking & we should be avoiding public transport not everyone lives near a supermarket

Thighmageddon · 22/05/2020 17:25

Five pages in and I'm none the wiser.

Happy lockdown birthday @Ninkanink

Noextremes2017 · 22/05/2020 17:28

50% of the population think the lockdown is great; the Government has taken only correct and proportionate measures; and that Johnson/Hancock etc are doing an excellent job?

50% think we are being subjected to exaggerations, lies (Johnson's specialist subject); and an unreasonable curtailment of freedoms.

So, given that, don't expect everyone to agree with your position and act as you do. It will be like it for months so there is a need to get used to agreeing to disagree without verbal abuse.

Shannith · 22/05/2020 17:36

Happy birthday @Ninkanink

Have a (((donkey)))

I must be stupid because when I go to the shop in my rural village I don't get into arguments with strangers. Or am I doing it wrong and I should be arguing with strangers?

But there are never strangers in my rural village shop, because...rural village... everyone knows everyone.

It's a puzzle. If I were cleverer I suppose I could work it out. Smile
