Tea bags do not go in the sink!

I've just cleaned the sink. DH has just made us both a cup of tea but left the tea bags in the sink. Why would anyone do this?! It gives me the rage. We have a pot on the side for used tea bags because it's a faff opening the compost bin just for 1 tea bag. It's right next to the kettle and the sink.

DH just huffed when I asked him not to leave the tea bags in the sink. AIBU?

Would a pot in the sink help, silicone type of thing, no idea if they exist?

Those bowls/plates for used teabags on counters are awful.

It makes me gag. My parents used to do it until I moaned long and loud enough and they started using a pot.

I'd like a large strainer with a plunger, perhaps a modified potato ricer, and its own drip tray which I could leave in the sink. If anyone knows of such a thing I'd love to know about it. My Google Searches bring up nothing useful.

YANBU. DH does this all the time and it drives me mad. Have bought some stainless steel cleaner because it stained our sink so badly!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/05/2020 20:27

Sorry FOJN

I have drunk it for so long I obviously forgot it isn't 'normal'

ErrolTheDragon · 20/05/2020 20:37

Ah, that explains it... it's probably missing all the lovely tannins.Grin

Can I add Cif cream is really good on tea stains?

So is a magic sponge. Just a bit of water needed then.

Its a lazy lazy habit that I find extends to the workplace. There's no excuse for it.

saw Les Dawson once, walked on stage sat on stool his opening line was 'my wife's a dirty cow you can't piss down our sink for tea bags ' had 2 1/2hours non stop. Sorry I know it's not pc but just brought it back to me

MY STUPID BOYFRIEND DOES THIS WITH EVERY SINGLE CUP OF TEA HE MAKES!!!! IM INCANDESCENT...HE NEVER REMOVES THEM HIMSELF! I mean wtf does he think happens to them?? Does the tea fairy come and collect them at the end of each day? Do they evaporate? Does the sink have a specialised tea bag munching system?

NO! It’s just my hand that comes along and moves them to their appropriate place- in the mother *ucking food bin.
