To think 60 is young to pass away

Someone I know of recently passed away age 60. I was talking to a friend who also knows this person and said how sad it was that she passed away so young. My friend said 60 wasn’t young at all to pass away. In my view anyone under annoy 75/80 is young to pass away.

Yes it's young. My DF died at 59. My DM feels robbed of the retirement years. They'd planned all sorts. He's also missed the birth of his first grandchild. 60 should be when you get to wind down and enjoy life.

Yes it is but my husband died at 38 so if I make it to 60 then I’d think I had a good innings. Perhaps depends upon what death you have been surrounded by.

My Dad died at 60 and a week. We went to see him for his birthday, and were back a week later for his death.

Yes, it's still fairly young and most people would still be working. I would say at least 70 plus is old.

Of course it's young to die. I lost my grandma when she was in her early sixties and everyone agreed it was a young age to pass away.

Assuming we are talking about the UK, I'd definitely they say that 60 is very young. I'd say anything under 80 is young.

60 is indeed young. I think about my parents who are nearly 60 and my PIL who are early 60s and think they are all young.

60 is still working age. Someone who turns 60 today will have to work another 6 years and 2 months before they get their state pension.

If 60's old, then I want my pension now. I shouldn't have to wait until August next year, I'm OLD!

As a 53 year old woman, my life expectancy (I'm in good nick ) is 83. Both my parents are in their 80s and well for their age. I thiink that 60 is painfully young

It all depends on what experience a person has with death. If someone has lost a loved one at a very young age, then 60 would not seem 'young'. From my point of view, I would've loved my Dad to live to 60. He died at 32. So that's my major experience of death. Most of my friends parents are now turning 60. I wouldn't consider them young if they died now.

The loss is still just as tragic for those left behind though.
