Hairy face!

Hi! Not really an aibu but I need some help!
I have a pretty hairy face in normal times so every 4 weeks I get my eyebrows, too lip, chin, neck and sideburns threaded.
It’s now been 8 weeks since it was last done and It’s so long!! I know it’s completely natural it’s just something I like to get done to boost my confidence a bit!
So what is everyone else doing? I don’t think I can wax it - think I’d chicken out! Should I buy a no no? Help!

I haven't myself but I have lots of friends who dream plane themselves at home, this removes hair and also dead skin cells, so I'm told.

I think the kits are quite readily available to buy online 😊

TickTockBaby · 13/05/2020 14:32

Dermaplane not dream plane 🙄

I am probably not quite as hairy as you but menopausal so chin hairs have gone bonkers. Instead of waxing I am plucking my eyebrows or rather my teen DD is, instead of waxing I have used Veet on my top lip which isnt ideal but helps me feel
more confident on video calls and i just have odd hairs on my chin which I continue to pluck out. I have a very dark haired friend who bought a device for her face but she didnt say which one.

Jupiters · 13/05/2020 15:30

Dermaplaning!

Whiffle77 · 13/05/2020 15:32

Is dermaplaning at home not just basically the same as shaving though? Would you not need to do it daily and get a bit stubbly?

Yeahnahmum · 13/05/2020 15:36

I am super hairy and actually just finished waxing my e n t I r e face. Usually I get it threaded too. Waxing is much more painful yes. But it is just s one quick pull follow by quick pain and it's over 😉. My skin sees red now. I did cool it afterwards. But my skin feels and looks glowy. I feel like I peeled back some dead cell layers on my face as well as the hair Grin which is positive. Plus I feel radiant now. Worth the pain for sure. Just suck it up for now. Or embrace your hairy self. I sure as hell won't haha..

This ???

I most definitely wouldn't be buying a NoNo.
They just burn the hair down to the skin. Absolutely crap!!

Anewcareer · 13/05/2020 16:32

Chewbacca!! Made me laugh!

Oh what waxing brand/kit did you use?

Socksontheradiatoragain · 13/05/2020 16:36

I pluck. If I didn't do it daily it's likely I'd have a beard. I waxed the 'moustache' and now keep it contained with tweezers.

Elieza · 13/05/2020 16:53

I got a NoNo from QVC U.K. and it did shorten the hair but I would have been as well going over it with gents clippers at a number one setting as the hair was still there.
When I licked my top lip i could feel the rough hair!

Waxing is better for me but it hurts.

Cold wax strips were useless.

Hot wax (that you put the whole tub into the microwave to heat up and apply with a stick and cloth you rip off) works for me. When I can be bothered!

Neverender · 13/05/2020 16:58

I dermaplane - only once every few weeks. Make up goes on like a dream and it makes me more comfortable. You can buy little razor scrapey things on Amazon, think they're called Tinkle.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 13/05/2020 17:00

Go onto YouTube and learn threading. You've got time - that's all it takes. Practise on friendly neighbourhood cats and badgers if you've no children to learn your craft on.

SnowyMouse · 13/05/2020 17:01

I use a men's wet/dry rotary shaver, it really works well.

HaudMaDug · 13/05/2020 17:34

Don't worry OP with social distancing I can't see it from over here. Wink

iswhois · 13/05/2020 17:44

Veet face waxing kits have always worked for me. You can order them from amazon.

StormyLovesOdd · 13/05/2020 17:50

I am very hairy, I use A Braun Facial Epilator, they're about £35 on Amazon. I use it twice a week on my upper lip, chin and neck, it gets through a LOT of batteries but it works and doesn't make the hair grow back thicker

DimplesToadfoot · 13/05/2020 18:07

I bought the Nair hair remover brush on cream for Face. that sorted out my chin and moustache. Then I also bought the Eylure Dybrow. plucked my brows and dyed the remaining hairs.

Tonight I'm dying my hair :-)

I was turning into a lock down slob lol so I decided to do something about it, so far so good :-)

tealandteal · 13/05/2020 18:17

I have a Lumea and it is amazing! I have used it since August and religiously since January and my top lip is hardly noticeable anymore. Chin still needs a bit of work but legs are nearly bare (below the knees) all the time!

Papergirl1968 · 13/05/2020 18:31

I second Dimples’ recommendation for the Nair brush.

73kittycat73 · 13/05/2020 19:32

I use a finishing touch Flawless. Does the peach fuzz well, but can get a bit of stubble on the chin after a day or two. I then remove that using one of those bendy hair remover things people always recommend on Amazon. (Sorry, not much help there was I? Hmm )

LadyEloise · 13/05/2020 19:51

The NoNo isn't any good apparently- it's got bad reviews Mumsnet

CakeItOrLeave · 13/05/2020 19:53

I’m using the veet facial wax on my face. I was chickening out too, but it hurts a lot less than threading ahaha
