Just that really . I never knew that people dream in colour , Ive always dreamed in black and white ?!
It was only when my husband happened to bring it up in conversation a few weeks back that I came to understand that it is possible to dream in colour . So....does anyone else dream like me or are you all coloured dreamers and I’m the weird one ?

I dream in colour but I realised a couple of years ago I don’t hear sound.

MrsGrindah · 01/05/2020 18:04

Full on sound and colour dreams here! I love my nightly adventures. Very rare I have bad dreams but when I do they are absolute shockers. But mostly I go on great escapades each night or sadly see my late parents but that’s comforting.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/05/2020 18:04

Yes. Really vivid dreams that I often remember when I wake up.

helpfulperson · 01/05/2020 18:06

Dreams are the most bizarre things. Many years ago when I was a student on a placement in france, so my french was OK but not amazing, I had a dream in which everyone was speaking French and woke up panicking because I had no idea what anyone was saying.

NeedaDiscoNap · 01/05/2020 18:07

I didn’t realise anyone dreamed in black and white! I always dream in colour, full sound, really vivid, epic dreams. I rarely have bad dreams but on the odd occasion I do they are truly awful and I wake up crying.

insancerre · 01/05/2020 18:08

My dreams are very lucid, it’s like real life
How weird that people dream in black and white

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 01/05/2020 18:10

Colour, but the sounds in my dreams are so loud they wake me up.

Raera · 01/05/2020 18:10

@Moonmelodies
Bill Nelson brings back memories!
We first saw Be Bop deluxe at Leeds Uni before a lot of mumsnetters were born!
Staying on thread theme, in colour always

ooooohbetty · 01/05/2020 18:12

I've heard this before but I always thought it was people who were around when tv was only in black and white.

opticaldelusion · 01/05/2020 18:12

I can very occasionally control my dreams (awesome). I also get sleep paralysis (horrible).

bailey999 · 01/05/2020 18:14

As a child I dreamt only in black and white but now always in colour!

EbbandTheWanderingHearts · 01/05/2020 18:17

Yes, I always dream in colour. My dreams are very vivid, sometimes quite disturbing, sometimes I am aware I'm dreaming and can control things within my dreams. I dream a lot and rarely wake up refreshed.

DollyDoneMore · 01/05/2020 18:20

Supposedly those who dream in black and white are meant to be much more creative than the average colour dreamer.

Sure they are... Hmm

catfeets · 01/05/2020 18:23

Yes in colour, didn't realise some people dreamed in black and white. Mine are like watching tv - I can replay parts, fast forward through if it's boring or just change it for a new one.

ClementineTangerine · 01/05/2020 18:23

Yep in colour! Mine are always really weird and vivid and I'd say 9/10 times I remember them

thequeenbeyondthewall · 01/05/2020 18:25

In colour and sound and I can go back to dreams if I am mid way through and get woken up.

userabcname · 01/05/2020 18:28

Always in colour. In fact sometimes that's how I realise I'm dreaming - everything is a little too vivid and almost glows.

BlueSuffragette · 01/05/2020 18:29

Yes I dream in colour. When I was a child I had a friend whose mum spoke English as an additional language. I was fascinated to know whether in her dreams she spoke in English or her home language. She said as she had lived here a long time and spoke fluent English that she talked in English in her dreams.

Godzillasonice · 01/05/2020 18:31

I dream in colour but strangely think in words and can't picture things in my head.

ChurchOfWokeApostate · 01/05/2020 18:35

I dream in Colour. Sounds also become part of my dreams, which means I constantly sleep through my alarms, as they become part of my dreams. Eg that awful blaring alarm from the iPhone, it became a warning siren like the resident evil alarm, and I had to them escape. I was also late!
I also have many types of recurring dreams, some about places I’ve never been/don’t exist, but I can picture them even when I’m awake. Sometimes there are people I’ve never met too, but I can’t seem to remember them as well as the places
I used to remember a lot of my dreams, but as I’m getting older I find I can’t remember them as much anymore.

I find dreams fascinating.

crispysausagerolls · 01/05/2020 18:42

Why are people saying sound? Surely everyone dreams with sound

sittingonacornflake · 01/05/2020 18:47

This is so fascinating. My experience of dreams they just feel like normal life so like I'm walking round and adding and heading as usual.

sittingonacornflake · 01/05/2020 18:47

Seeing and hearing. Bloody autocorrect.

CaptainBlunderpants · 01/05/2020 18:48

Full colour.

I make up songs in my dreams and wake up with the music in my head.

Lucindainthesky · 01/05/2020 18:49

In colour.

I didn't realise this until I learnt how to lucid dream (knowing you're dreaming)

In lucid dreams all of your senses are super realistic - full colour, sound, touch, taste etc. It's absolutely insane what the brain can create!
