I had ran out this morning mum went to get some the other day but her size was out of stock, couldn't wait for mum to finish work at 9.30pm. What was I supposed to do? I have had some quite nasty messages from a friend about putting my 20month old daughter at risk.

I really am feeling like shit right now Sad

This person is not your friend. I have never experienced anyone speaking to me like that. Never. The reasonable thing most people would do is block and not engage with her ever again. No way would she continue to be a friend or even an acquaintance.

She sounds like a nasty bitch I'd say your lucky to be shot of her op. You did nothing wrong of course you had to go get nappies for your baby. What's wrong with some people!I'm sorry she made you feel shit but you can try and see it as a positive that she's shown her true colors.x

Sorry I got a bit confused OP I was thinking it was your mother who was highly strung since she got furloughed, now I realise you were meaning your friend (re purpledaises post). Apologies to your mum.

So many people are perfect parents before they have children.

This virus has bought out so many crazies. At least you know what she’s truly like now so you don’t need to bother with her anymore

Piglet89 · 01/05/2020 13:48

@StudentMummy20 not for everyone I know but when I couldn’t get size 3 for my 8 month old several weeks ago, I switched to reusables about a month ago and haven’t looked back. I just use the disposables overnight now so we run out a lot more slowly obviously!

Piglet89 · 01/05/2020 13:48

Your friend is ridiculous; I always bring my baby to the shops with me!

MrsDrudge · 01/05/2020 13:49

If she was any sort of friend, instead of criticising and being mean, she could have encouraged you to call her if you run out of anything else so she could either pick some up for you or look after your baby while you went.

GabriellaMontez · 01/05/2020 13:49

With friends like that...

PotholeParadise · 01/05/2020 13:59

couldn't give me one, kept banging on about putting my daughter at risk and that she was disgusted, called me a little girl and said hadn't run out of nappies, it was an excuse.

Your 'friend' treats you like the dirt on her shoe. I'm bemused that she accused you of lying. Why would you bother lying to her? She's not actually in charge of your life!

She is unpleasant, and sounds as thick as the dirt on her shoe. Block her and don't speak to her again.

The nappy shortages are going to be ongoing and we're moving into summer which means line-drying for free. Buy a few cloth ones, and then you can wash them and reuse them.

You’re allowed out and nappies are pretty essential.
