That a toaster should fit bread in it??

Just that really.

We need a new toaster. Had a look on Amazon and many of the reviews say things like "looks nice/toasts well/quick... BUT does not fit a full slice of bread in." A quick look on the Which? website says the same in their reviews too. How can this be??? Do toaster manufacturers not know how big bread is?

On that note, if anyone can recommend one that fits normal bread especially Warburtons toastie loaf in, that would be greatly appreciated

@Bargainhuntbore we all love Warburton's toastie in our house. The very cheapest and spongiest of sliced whites! I thought that on mumsnet that would be akin to admitting I feed my children crack cocaine for breakfast so I'm glad to see we're not the only ones.

I totally agree OP. I get sick of toasters not fitting bread in.

And “who eats Warburtons?” Only half the country! It’s one of the top selling brands of bread.

I did this exact thread about 6 weeks ago. One poster suggested this bad boy direct.asda.com/george/home/kettles-toasters/4-slice-toaster-copper/050462849,default,pd.html?cgid=D26M10G10C06

Bloody amazing. Fits any size toasties loaf and doesn't need flipping. I'm considering getting the kids to move out so I can carb overload on toast

Dualit.........

I have a Dualit 4 slot that we got in a wedding present 20 years ago. It fits UK bread.

It’s a much more expensive toaster but I expect it to last for another 20 years. All the parts are easily and cheaply replaced. We’ve replaced the elements and the timer.

Had this issue for years as I love Warburtons bread. Ended up buying a Heston Blumenthal Sage 4 slice one....its expensive but a game changer!

We havd the jaw grinding annoyance that is having to make toast in two runs (yes, first world problem, we know) but we didn't want a hulking great boxy thing on the worktop.

We ended up with the Breville that I suspect MaggieAndHopey has, this one. It NEEDS to be able to toast three pieces at once, and not having your first lot go cold while you toast the third bit.

This toaster does scorch the bread at a lowish setting, I can't imagine why you'd ever use the hottest, unless you planned a career in bread forensics and fancy sifting through ash.

We have just bought one of these and bread fits. www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/small-kitchen-appliances/toasters/breville-the-perfect-fit-for-warburtons-vtt570-2-slice-toaster-stainless-steel-10133888-pdt.html?istCompanyId=bec25c7e-cbcd-460d-81d5-a25372d2e3d7&istFeedId=4d7eb93e-055f-499d-8ee5-1cdcc50d67d1&istItemId=xtxarwrrq&istBid=tztx&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~2045_PLA_AO_BAU_Hoc3-SDA_Hoc1-SKA_MA-KETTLES+& TOASTERSAllGNoneMedium~2045 (PLA) KETTLES And TOASTERS ad group~Exact=present&mctag=gggoog7904&kwid=GOOGLE&device=m&dskids=92700046430752507&tgtid=2045PLAAOBAUHoc3-SDAHoc1-SKAMA-KETTLES+& TOASTERSAllGNoneMedium=present&=present&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI95e6wJ2T6QIVSbDtCh0spgPxEAQYASABEgKG8vDBwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
