For me it's the people who come onto a thread to say"OMG is that ALL you have to worry about? Seriously???? Some people are sooo easily annoyed. You really need to calm down Angry. "

Your current thread is hilarious and you have totally owned it
I now need to know what Boatymcboatofftheboat's thread is?

DadDadDad · 28/04/2020 08:51

@onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad - I had the same question and I see link has been posted while I went off to find it. Be warned: the OP disguised their problem by talking about a "boat", but in their OP in one instance they slipped up and wrote "car". They later got MNHQ to edit their post so the word "car" no longer appears. It turns out that the OP is in fact not talking about a boat or a car, and she gets rumbled. I know that sounds confusing, but hopefully it makes reading the thread a little less confusing. Smile

The threads that ask for revenge, even lighthearted revenge and some Mother Earth comes along and says....I act like an adult and talk it through or just walk away rather then get revenge 😌

Why do they bother??

UnagiSalmonSkinRoll · 28/04/2020 09:29

OH!! and that wifi thread the other day, the OP had changed her password within the first page, but 1500 pages later people were telling her to change the password!!!!

MortyFide · 28/04/2020 09:32

OMG the "boat" thread is hilarious. If you ride the panda, will you have time for the boat?

Mammatino · 28/04/2020 09:56

I do like it when there is an enormous row going on by two posters and some random posts a picture of a cat, it’s just highlights the ridiculousness of it all. I’m currently noticing the same 3/4 posters hijacking lots of threads and taking over...I think they are bored and they are either name changers or new to mn and are starting a bun fight for the hell of it. I like a lovely kind post where someone has really read and tried to help the OP too that’s nice.

If you are a penniless single mother at your wits' end, the solution is to ask your husband to book you a spa day. Grin

A woman last week asked mumsnetters if any of us would be interested in her mum's crystal collection, as her mum had passed away and the OP didn't want to just bin the crystals as she knew people could put them to good use.

I thought that was lovely and so kind.

I love threads where the OP makes a typo in the title, it's picked up... But the OP takes it in good humour instead of getting offended by the detail. Recent example... Thread in Gardening where 'digging' was substituted for 'dogging'

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 28/04/2020 10:28

Thank you thejollygargler for the link and DadDadDad for the heads up about the title

If I'm ever feeling a bit down and mis, my go to place is Mumsnet Classics where, after even the shortest amount of poking about, I can find a thread that will have me roaring with laughter.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 28/04/2020 11:02

There was a great one on children of the 70’s and what wasn’t considered ok then that now we look back in horror. Like pulling into cars etc. One poster told the story of when their science teacher demonstrated how electricity conducted. They all lined up holding hands as he touched some sort of live wire (or was it an electric fence) it still makes me cry Grin

Another really interesting thread was one about what we remembered as children and couldn’t make sense of but now do. Some posts were terribly sad I think it was cathartic for quite a few
