For me it's the people who come onto a thread to say"OMG is that ALL you have to worry about? Seriously???? Some people are sooo easily annoyed. You really need to calm down Angry. "

Oh God yes "what happened to be kind" usually posted by someone trying to hide their snideness behind a sanctimonious smile.

The hierarchical order of importance which, according to my scientifically approved research, appears to be:

  • DDog
  • DCat
  • DC
  • DWiderMumsnet
  • DH
  • Me — never married, 50 something, single female, no kids. What on earth is the point in my existence? Grin
NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 27/04/2020 10:37

That virtually no woman on MN watches porn

Well, I do .... if the the mood so takes Blush

circusintown · 27/04/2020 10:39

People who start with

"Oh my love"
"Oh my darling"
"Oh honey, you poor sweet thing"

Makes me want to vomit

Pinkginhelps · 27/04/2020 10:55

"Give your head a wobble" ... I never heard this before reading it on MN. It does make me laugh...

SquatBetty · 27/04/2020 11:08

The types that post "Daily Mail are twats!" at the beginning of their posts or similar. I strongly suspect if the Mail want to copy their post they'll just edit that line out 😂

sashh · 27/04/2020 11:21

The baby names where people give a criteria and someone answers with totally unsuitable names eg, I like classic long girls' names, I can't use Elizabeth because X and Charlotte doesn't work with out same name and someone will pop up and Kaleesha or Zoot.

Or My husband is muslim so we want a name that reflects his beliefs / culture and some one witll reply with Wendy or Theresa.

Or our surname is Peacock, what would go well with that? and the answer is, 'how about Andrew, NN Drew'

There is nothing wrong with the names per se but they go against the poster's criteria.

I heard Sonia Poutlon say someone should, "give their head a wobble" so hi Sonia.

thejollygargler · 27/04/2020 12:48

Zoot Grin

It makes me laugh that people have to ask complete strangers what they should name their child, and that many people don't really understand what a nickname is.

Pelleas · 27/04/2020 12:51

I like the fun threads - like the kidnapped/rescuers from last thing you watched that's running now.

OneandTwenty · 27/04/2020 13:02

The "I don't know anyone who does/doesn't do xyz".

Not when it's in reply to someone who stated that something doesn't exist, but when it's in either bewilderment/ denial that the entire world doesn't live in the only way the poster knows.

OneandTwenty · 27/04/2020 13:10

the poster who wrote that they had been temporarily banned from MN for calling themselves a twat did make me laugh

Pinkginhelps · 27/04/2020 14:39

@OneandTwenty Seriously? That happened? That is funny.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 27/04/2020 15:40

Playmoland updates from SoMuchToBits

On the ear piercing threads when someone points out that it’s cultural because they are Asian - you see some tripping over themselves to not appear racially offensive but the use of chav is fine Confused Grin Hmm

Boatymcboatofftheboat · 27/04/2020 15:42

I made a cock up oN the OP of my thread, and people were fucking hilarious about it. I was up until midnight chuckling at the jokes

derxa · 27/04/2020 15:50

The endless prepping, batch cooking and meal planning that goes on. Plus 'deep cleaning'. But I'm a slattern.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 27/04/2020 15:53

I like what shall I name my kitten/puppy with lots of photos Smile

Some threads I’m not only moved by the op’s difficult experience but by the thoughtful responses and shared experiences at times has moved me to tears how supportive women on here are

thejollygargler · 27/04/2020 15:54

@Boatymcboatofftheboat

Your current thread is hilarious and you have totally owned it Grin

Boatymcboatofftheboat · 27/04/2020 16:04

@thejollygargler

Hahaha, I thank you! By far the best thread I’ve managed to do anyway, and by complete accident 😄 but really, some of the comments people have written have been incredible

Carbosug · 28/04/2020 07:23

I also love the reply
We'll op I've found that minding my own business and accepting that other people do things differently from me has made me a lovely tolerant person and not a judgmental asshat. You should try it sometime.

They never ever see the irony.

OP posts:
KatherineJaneway · 28/04/2020 07:30

I inwardly smile when an OP is so obviously being unreasonable and then they get their thread pulled as they have 'privacy concerns in real life'. Yeah right, they just couldn't handle the truth.

KatherineJaneway · 28/04/2020 07:37

The 'cancel the cheque' bunch. Just unbelievable really

Littlecaf · 28/04/2020 07:40

It makes me giggle when someone posts a long rant about parking, no paragraphs etc clearly annoyed and the first response is

“Diagram”

Grin
ChicChicChicChiclana · 28/04/2020 07:43

People who post a comment that is the polar opposite of what was asked for in the thread title, eg. circusintown's comment at 10.39 yesterday Grin

ChicChicChicChiclana · 28/04/2020 07:45

Who are the cancel the cheque bunch (I understand the reference to cancel the cheque). Who are the bunch?

JustinMyJustin · 28/04/2020 07:47

Just thinking about the Pom Bear thread makes me smile. I only have to think about the DH going “Pom Bear anyone?” and my day immediately brightens upGrin
