Agree BubblesBuddy.

DuLANGDuLANGDuLANG · 27/04/2020 09:03

Our hospital charity has paid for things like a garden on the roof of the children’s hospital.

The service costs £140 billion. There is enough for deprived areas. Charitable donations cannot replace that. Insurance from those who can afford it would and that includes the elderly.

Fanacapan · 27/04/2020 09:03

Watch Calendar Girls!

Handiies · 27/04/2020 09:04

If you fly with Easy Jet you obviously don’t have any taste though! So do I want your opinions anyway!

And you only fly ba? Who are owned by lots of countries with awful women's rights...

The government are completely disorganised. Hence a whole warehouse full of PPE being exported from the UK last week. There was no-one in place to buy it and distribute it.
It is just being discussed on GMB now.

gingersausage · 27/04/2020 09:06

@JudyCoolibar your post makes no sense and is a classic example of how you and so many others are totally missing the point.

The millions being raised for “the NHS” is not going to buy PPE for staff or to help treat CV19. Its is going to NHS CHARITIES!

I honestly think that a large majority of people who donated actually believed their money would buy face masks or scrubs; I bet a lot of them would quite like that money back as they realise where it’s actually going 😕

noavailablename · 27/04/2020 09:07

That was in response to QuestionMarkNow

lyralalala · 27/04/2020 09:07

The whole thing was so rushed and ill thought out I don't think they really planned it much, but we can see how it's developing

I think we can see how some people would like it to develop

If MNHQ have any business accumen whatsoever they'll not pander to the few amongst those who've paid who think that makes them superior to everyone else. They cannot afford to piss off the vast majority of their user base

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 27/04/2020 09:08

Well premium users will be more listened to

They won’t be if they’re talking shit mate

You’ve got to have a good reason to delete....not someone paying £50 doesn’t like a thread

JudyCoolibar · 27/04/2020 09:08

Loving the concept that MN premium users are set up so that when they report something, whether justifiably or not, a klaxon sounds and lights start flashing, and everyone in MNHQ drops whatever they're doing to delete the thread that has offended the revered premium user.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 27/04/2020 09:09

with awful women's rights

You seem to believe that only people who pay should be listened to

That doesnt really fit with womens rights

BA is a private company which operates as part of a larger company with shareholders. It isn’t owned by any country. How ill informed you are! Shareholders are also pension funds. They pay pensions to people on MN, like you. You might like to brush up on your economics before you post such rubbish. I think what you posted rather makes my point that being a premium member is not anything worth having.

gingersausage · 27/04/2020 09:12

Are people going to derail every single thread whining about the subscription? Pay it, don’t pay it but for gods sake stop bringing it onto topics where it has no relevance, just to shut down discussion 🙄.

Why are people still advocating an insurance-based model? Insurance companies aren't charities, either. They exist to make their shareholders money.
They won't pay out if they can possibly help it. Hasn't the current situation, where insurance companies are using any get-out clause they can find, taught you anything?

lyralalala · 27/04/2020 09:13

@gingersausage You do realise that it cropped up on this thread because someone who has paid posted for others who have paid to report the thread to get it closed because they don't like the thread?

If ever there was a thread it was approriate to discuss it on then it's surely one that someone is trying to stifle using their special paying punter status?

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 27/04/2020 09:14

Very good point ginger

I’ll try and ignore (I’m not promising anything)

Handiies · 27/04/2020 09:14

Bubbles you are the one that needs schooling. BA is owned 10% by Qatar airways who is owned wholey by the Qatar governmentBiscuit

BubblesBuddy · 27/04/2020 09:15

Bigger fool you for coughing up £50. The revenue model of the company is obviously failing so ask the gullible for money!!! Hey, that was you.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 27/04/2020 09:16

And lyra

Bugger, now im torn

lyralalala · 27/04/2020 09:16

I do think @MHHQ need to clarify once and for all over the reporting issue

Will threads like this be shut down because premium users report them, or do premium and non-premium users have exactly the same standing when it comes to thread reporting

Iwantacookie · 27/04/2020 09:18

@handies all those pointless ones that are doing doing fuck all. Yes I mean them.
