ellabella18 · 26/04/2020 18:45

Oh and we haven't left the house in six weeks so he won't have COVID.

Crafting1Queen · 26/04/2020 18:45

Boak, that's absolutely minging!

ellabella18 · 26/04/2020 18:46

@LilQueenie

Read the update, I was proving a point to my DH.

Tbh probably not. I feed the dog at the same time I’m cooking dinner and I don’t wash my hands. Dog licks us all the time anyway.

That’s rotten. Would you do the same if you were having guests for food?

No way would I knowingly eat something where Simone had prepared it while handling a dog, it’s bedding, it’s bowl or any toys without washing their hands.

Rebootingagain · 26/04/2020 18:57

Guests round for food. Was not suggesting you are a cannibal

Rosebel · 26/04/2020 19:08

I don't always wash my hands after touching our cat but I always do before preparing food, I thought that was standard.
I do use the same water for washing up the cat bowls but wash them at the end and use a different cloth.
Your DH sounds gross.

userxx · 26/04/2020 19:10

I just asked him to chop an onion for me and watched him fill the dogs bowl up with water and reach for the onion

And this is driving to you to the point of a melt down? Fair enough if he had cleaned up the dog shit in the garden but a water bowl? Mountain out of a molehill.

Nicolastuffedone · 26/04/2020 19:13

No. It really isn’t.

Maduixa · 26/04/2020 19:14

Such an obvious reverse...

Agree; it's clearly a disgruntled dog posting this, offended by his overzealous person compulsively washing her hands after contact.

dogsdinnerlady · 26/04/2020 19:15

Look, the dog won't mind, honest.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 26/04/2020 19:21

My standards are fairly low but that is minging.

Isleepinahedgefund · 26/04/2020 19:23

Yes - and it’s nothing too do with Coronavirus and everything to do with dogs licking their arses and then licking their bowls!

ishouldnotsayit · 26/04/2020 19:30

Hmm touched the outside which you know they haven't licked .. hmm. I generally wash hands after. But then I will pick up my dogs toys he carries in his mouth and not wash my hands so YANBU

coolcatsandkitten · 26/04/2020 20:33

@Maduixa that made me laugh so much!! Grin

Puddlesplasher · 26/04/2020 20:35

Yuck! Yes of course you need to wash your hands before preparing food! I always wash my hands after stroking my dog too.

Yellowsubmarinedreams · 26/04/2020 21:12

I always wash my hands after handling their food/bowls. I always wash my hands before preparing food. Dont always wash my hands after stroking the dog though, that's a bit dramatic and my skin would be red raw.

Durgasarrow · 26/04/2020 21:14

This is a reversal, no?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/04/2020 21:14

Eew

Thisismytimetoshine · 26/04/2020 21:24

Why the reverse, op?? If it really wasn't you (bet it was) why pretend it was someone else?

QuestionEverythingOrBeASheep · 26/04/2020 21:53

The most basic food hygiene is wash your hands before you handle food, period! It makes no difference what you have or have not do e before, just do it. A lot of men seem to have their hands down their pants a lot of the time. Would you not mind them preparing your food without washing? What about going to the loo then preparing your food. Wash hand always before touching or preparing food. It reduces the risk of illness, it's not rocket science.

WiddlinDiddlin · 27/04/2020 11:35

I think its pretty obvious why the reverse @Thisismytimetoshine so the op could show her husband an unbiased thread of opinions.

MarieQueenofScots · 27/04/2020 11:36

The fact is what he is touching is irrelevant.

Hand washing before preparing food is a very basic concept.

redwoodmazza · 27/04/2020 11:56

I always wash my hands after handling ANY pet dishes.
I remember many years ago feeling sick when a work colleague told me they regularly allow their dog to lick out the roasting tin every Sunday. She said it was fine as she put it in the dishwasher afterwards....
Envy NOT envy!

Thisismytimetoshine · 27/04/2020 11:58

Unbiased? We don't know either of them, it's an anonymous forum! Reverse always suggests furious backpedaling to me.

When told they're weird or gross there's an instant "oh no, no, it wasn't me! some other fecking eejit did it!".
Dumb.
