I've signed up for the free trial, they are supposed to have givene my money back. Still waiting. More than a month. I'm skint and really need that money.

Confused here..

Disney+ has only been available for about a month, so they've taken money only a few days ago, how have you been waiting more than a month for a refund?

Indeed, have you actually asked for a refund, because simply cancelling after the free trial ran out would not achieve that (nothing will, you signed up with the terms and conditions right there, you needed to cancel before the end of the free months trial was up, or you agreed to pay.)

justasking111 · 26/04/2020 12:46

Is it only a 7 day trial. Wow, I think Amazon and Netflix give you longer than that.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 26/04/2020 12:48

If you paid for the year, then you'll have to contact them, otherwise they'll just stop next years payment.

CaptainBlunderpants · 26/04/2020 12:51

But you didn’t cancel in the free trial period.

FallonSwift · 26/04/2020 12:56

You can't have a refund because you didn't cancel before the end of the free trial - it's in the terms and conditions.

If they have taken payment for this month then make sure you cancel it before it rolls over again into next month.

shinyredbus · 26/04/2020 12:59

One day late means you won’t get your money back Op. sorry.

IHaveAMagicBean · 26/04/2020 13:02

Sorry op, nobody can help get you a refund as you’re not due a refund. You didn’t cancel your subscription on time! Lesson learned eh?

OhioOhioOhio · 26/04/2020 13:03

Maybe not exactly a month but roughly a month. I had along online chat with a Disney rep who verified it and promised the refund.

Weeks ago.

I imagine the person you spoke to made s mistake, legally they do not have to refund you as the contract states that you must cancel or payment will be taken. You'll just have to write it off I'm afraid.

Weregoingonanadventure · 26/04/2020 13:15

It's only £5.99.

You signed up, had the 7 days and didnt cancel so they've charged you the £5.99. That's your mistake.
Have you cancelled it now so you wont pay again?
You can use it for the rest of your month, but cancel it now so you arent charged again.

If you signed up for the free trial with the annual £60 payment then that was dumb. Why would you choose that option if you had no intention of using it for the year?
They dont have to refund you. If they said they would then you need to get back on and speak to them. No one here can do that for you, but you arent actually entitled to a refund.

DontStandSoClose · 26/04/2020 13:16

Have they taken the full year or did you sign up for pay monthly? My husband did ours so I’m not sure how the payments work? If it’s the year maybe see if they will refund you minus the first month as you cancelled late? If it’s just the 1 months payment you are trying to chase you were too late to cancel so won’t get that back.

Sweetbabycheezits · 26/04/2020 13:26

I'm afraid the other posters are right, OP, you aren't entitled to a refund. Hopefully, you chose the £5.99 per month option so that you're only out that much, but if you chose to pay the full whack for the year, I don't think there is anything they can do.

OhioOhioOhio · 26/04/2020 13:32

Yeah. Fair enough. I realise it was my fault. I guess annoyed she said I'd get a refund. And confused?

OP posts:
heartsonacake · 26/04/2020 13:33

YABU. You were late to cancel; that is entirely your fault.

peppermintcapsules · 26/04/2020 13:51

Gawd, everyone and their brother these days wants a bloody refund even after they screw up. You aren't entitled to a refund (of 6 quid) if you're even a day late past the trial period.

AldiAisleOfCrap · 26/04/2020 13:52

Did you pay for a month or year?

peppermintcapsules · 26/04/2020 13:54

She gave you wrong information.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 26/04/2020 13:57

I paid for a year, but it didn't work on my TV. I cancelled it the same day (24th march). I got my refund 2 days ago. So a month basically.

SunShine682 · 26/04/2020 13:58

Did you pay for a month or a year? Either way it’s your own fault and your not entitled to a refund

vanillandhoney · 26/04/2020 14:06

You won't get a refund if you cancelled after the trial period finished, even if it was "just a day late".

TheLette · 26/04/2020 14:31

Regardless of whether you acted rightly or wrongly, do you have it in writing that they will give you a refund? E.g. a record of the online chat? If so can't you just remind them of that. That will trump anything else.

PineappleDanish · 26/04/2020 14:33

I was one day late

So you didn't stick to the rules and still think they should refund you?

Hmm
therona · 26/04/2020 14:58

For future reference, you can cancel those kinds of trials immediately after signing up and you still get until the end of the free trial period.

Blubelle7 · 26/04/2020 15:07

You do know you can sign up for a trial and immediately cancel so you aren't charged. You still get access for the trial period
