To ask for your comfy bra suggestions

Shamelessly looking for traffic.

Since having my daughter 2 years ago I’ve really gone off underwired bras. I really don’t need the extra support (just about filling a b cup) and they just aren’t comfy. What I do appreciate from them is a bit of padding and that they often look really nice.

I keep reaching for my super comfy maternity bras that don’t fit and don’t give me any shape. Or none at all because lock down. But presumably this is going to end at some point...

Has anyone got any suggestions for great non wired bras with a bit of shape added that aren’t ugly and have thin straps so can be worn with vests etc? Reasonably priced would be great. I normally love m and a but was really disappointed by their breast feeding bras.

Calvin Klein plunge push up bras. They're around £40, no wire but slightly padded and still manage to lift. I'm a recent convert

Dreamingofsunnydays · 19/04/2020 09:45

Hi Primark do a 3 pack of crop top looking bras, padded ( removable) and come in lots of colours but also your standard black, grey and white. Thin straps and super comfy. Work a treat for me.

userabcname · 19/04/2020 09:50

The m and s bralets (the £9.50 ones). They are in dress sizes so no faffing there and provide some support without being uncomfy. I'm breastfeeding and couldn't be bothered to get measured for a nursing bra - I was worried these wouldn't be supportive enough but they are fine. I would say if you are between sizes then get the larger size. They also do a dd+ selection which I'm in and they are great.

Noteventhebestdrummer · 19/04/2020 10:36

Do those M&S ones give you mono boob though?

ThenSheSaidMore · 19/04/2020 10:39

Molke a million times! Shut just now due to lockdown but so much love for them.

koshkatt · 19/04/2020 10:43

Molke are really good but get the right size! I needed a much bigger cup than I measured for and had quad boob in the too small size! Grin

juls1888 · 19/04/2020 10:44

Molke for me.....never worn a "normal" bra since I got my first one not long before Christmas. They are amazing!

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 19/04/2020 10:47

For really good support, non-underwired, I like these
M&S Total support

I also bought some French Connection pull on T Shirt bras with a racer back that I've been wearing lots in lockdown.

Hoggleludo · 19/04/2020 10:55

Hollister bralettes. Oh my god

The best thing ever!

Branleuse · 19/04/2020 10:57

Molke are great for non wired, but there are also some wahm that are still working. I particularly like creasefreeclothes and hiccups and juice

QueenofStella · 19/04/2020 12:41

Victoria’s Secret T-shirt bras - no uncomfortable wires and racer back so no annoying straps falling off your shoulder - still hoik you up pretty well too (and I have very little to speak of up top) Grin

Msloverlover · 19/04/2020 13:26

So I looked at the Molke ones and I thought they looked great for breast feeding but a bulk bulky on the straps for when your not. Can you wear spaghetti strap vests with them?

Thanks for all the recommendations btw

Have any of these brackets/bras got slight built in padding but without actual removable pads as they go squiffy and move about!

Asking for DD!

Msloverlover · 19/04/2020 13:34

Ck and Victoria’s Secret ones both out of stock. Damn

@Appuskidu good question.

3 Pack Seamless Bras Non Padded... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07MMTMQYF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I’m a size 20 and a 38h and these have been fab during lockdown.

cheeseandpickledonions · 19/04/2020 14:33

Those molke bras are hideous not to my taste

I agree CK have some nice non wired bras, they wash well and there always seems to be a sale on in the ck underwear store near me

M&S also, and reasonably priced

ThenSheSaidMore · 19/04/2020 23:27

@cheeseandpickledonions they do plain coloured. I can't begin to explain to you how they've changed my life as a big boobed person. Better lift, no underwire. I never ever do the "I just take off my bra immediately" anymore. Forget I've got a bra on Grin I will concede that the spaghetti strap thing you will have to flash a strap but I wear wider straps anyway due to massive boobs!

TiddlesUpATree · 19/04/2020 23:39

Sloggi zero feel. They are so so comfy.

ssd · 19/04/2020 23:45

@ThenSheSaidMore, tell me more. I'm a 36j cup, I've looked at molke before but just can't figure out how they'd hold me up without wiring? Or do you get a monoboob? Am desperate for something uplifting yet comfy!!

ThenSheSaidMore · 20/04/2020 07:47

@ssd they come in different fabric ratings, firmest is a 3. No mono boob, much less bounce than normal bras. No strap marks. Made in Perthshire by a small, ethical company who are excellent at advice and returns. Excellent resale value via a Facebook page. Fast deliveries when it's not lock down!

ssd · 20/04/2020 09:06

Thanks. I was on their mailing list before all this, but I'd sort of forgotten about them. I think I'll try them when they start up again. Do you order your normal size?

Connie222 · 20/04/2020 09:10

Following this as I’m pregnant and underwire is bugging me.

But I’ve never found a soft or non wired bra
That’s any good - I’m a 40GG so huge, heavy boobs anyway. I always end up falling out of non wired bras or getting a uniboob.

Also I’m a size 16 so buying ‘size 16’ bras wouldn’t even contain one boob let alone both Grin

ssd · 20/04/2020 09:28

Try Royce or triumph bras, don't wear wires when pregnant.

Connie222 · 20/04/2020 09:55

@ssd while they are annoying I’ve always had to keep wearing them in previous pregnancies - no money for new underwear and I don’t tend to go up any sizes in pregnancy, don’t show much and never have to buy any maternity clothes weirdly! They always bug me a bit but it’s that or have them hanging by my knees!

That’s the other problem I have - budget is about £10. I’ve seen some on Amazon but I don’t want to waste my money if they are crap.
