Burntmybiscuits · 18/04/2020 18:42

A total wreck, of course! Isn't that what being 18 is about? Grin

RedHelenB · 18/04/2020 18:43

No money but the time of my life, as it should be aged 18.

Lazypuppy · 18/04/2020 18:43

Howcanwehelp · 18/04/2020 18:44

I was on my own, had 3 jobs and finishing my a levels, planning on funding my way through university. Everyone will be in a different place.

moveandmove · 18/04/2020 18:44

I had a full time job and a mortgage!

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 18/04/2020 18:45

Lived with parents, engaged to dh and earning £4.5k at a bank Grin

But that was 32 years ago Grin

ButtonandPickle19 · 18/04/2020 18:45

Worked full time, owned my own house, had my eldest daughter

Chocolateandamaretto · 18/04/2020 18:45

18 was great, had plenty of savings to pay my way through uni, parents giving me an allowance to get pissed on, generally living it up....
Then I got a pregnant and it all went a bit south financially for a while!

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 18/04/2020 18:45

Too many grins...i just look unhinged

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/04/2020 18:45

Living in a shared house, working as a waitress, pissing all my money away going clubbing. Good times.

Rainbowchampagne · 18/04/2020 18:45

My mum gave me access to my savings and I spent it all on fake tan, clothes, drink and drugs 😩

OccasionalNachos · 18/04/2020 18:46

At uni - didn’t work as had a restaurant job in my home town, so pre-loaded the cash in the holidays & spent the loan the rest of the time. Blew it on nonsense, mostly.

Pulled it all together & bought a flat by 24, though.

VodselForDinner · 18/04/2020 18:46

I was working full time for minimum wage but living with my parents and not paying rent or any household bills etc.
Also wasn’t saving much but spending all my money on traveling and nights out.

I moved out when I was 20 and got a sharp shock!

Toomanycats99 · 18/04/2020 18:46

My second year at college I actually had 2 part time jobs working probably around 12/14 hours a week and as I didn't have to contribute to household bills I had tons of cash!

Sparklingbrook · 18/04/2020 18:46

Living with parents. Full time job, new car and saving £££s for a house deposit.

altiara · 18/04/2020 18:47

At school! Starting last year of 6th form.
Am a September birthday so didn’t get A level results until I was almost 19. So lived at home, had a supermarket job for extra pocket money. Was a child really.

Lanurk · 18/04/2020 18:47

At college doing a course I hated, spent the loan and then took out three store cards and ran up about £6k of debt between them and my student overdraft 🤦🏼‍♀️ Spent the next 3 years paying it all off!

batvixen123 · 18/04/2020 18:47

I left school that year, took a gap year and worked three different random shit jobs to save money to travel. Then paid for a TEFL course and used that to subsidize myself and my savings while travelling. Got to live at home on peppercorn rent while doing this which made it possible. All very privileged and middle class in lots of ways, but I did learn a lot from the shit jobs (cleaner, dish washer in a pub, barmaid, call centre) and I'm glad I saw the wider world when I was quite young too. Definitely opened my eyes.

rosegoldivy · 18/04/2020 18:48

Had perm job, had a car and lived with my parents.

Worked Full time job Mon-Friday then was out pissing my earnings up a wall every Friday-Sunday.

So financially had fuck all. 😂

Bagelsandbrie · 18/04/2020 18:48

I was doing my A levels and working in a pub - rough South London pub at the end of my road. Was supposed to work about 12 hours a week and ended up often doing about 36! So I was - compared to my peer group- rolling in it! And I used to hawk all the fruit machines and knew which ones were likely to pay out and then I’d regularly win £100 a week from them too..!

Of course, it all went back into the pub as I used to drink for England and was friends with all the regulars. Blush

Time of my life. Grin

OddBoots · 18/04/2020 18:49

Not bad, I got an after school job as soon as I started secondary school (for a whole £1 an hour in my first role) then over time got various summer and Christmas jobs and saved all I earned for driving lessons then a deposit on a house. I have always been a little peculiar.

Roussette · 18/04/2020 18:49

Renting a flat, very skint, working very hard, two jobs.

Sparklingbrook · 18/04/2020 18:50

OP why do you want to know?

hammeringinmyhead · 18/04/2020 18:51

September birthday so I was in my second year of 6th form and working Saturdays in a stationery shop. I usually had a few hundred in the bank at any one time but was living at home as I think most year 13s are! I had no car to pay for either. I went to uni about 2 weeks after I turned 19.

lastqueenofscotland · 18/04/2020 18:51

At uni having the time of my life with a couple of part time jobs
