To think that a personality cult has developed around Boris Johnson?

I know this sounds completley ridiculous but have a quick look around social media and in particular Twitter, and you will see a disturbing number of people with lots of union flags in their twitter handle name who effectively think that the sun shines out of his arse, that he can do no wrong and that any justifiable criticism of his or his governments handling of the current crisis is part of a massive 'leftie' conspiracy against him.

They are terrified of 'lefties's and 'liberals' and think all of the media are out to get Boris and his government, it is just bat shit. Its not just Twitter either, I had to unfriend someone on Facebook after they told me that I should 'show Boris some fucking respect' a few weeks ago. This was after I'd shared something criticising his handling of the pandemic. Thankfully it was somone I don't really know that well and never have to see again, but still!

If im honest it all a bit disturbing. Its reminscent of a personality cult IMO, 'how dare you disrespect our glorious leader'.

Loft extension - would you?

Am I going crazy here? Our neighbours were part through a loft extension when lockdown started but their house was watertight and they already have 3 bedrooms. Got a text from my neighbour cheerfully telling me they were coming back to do all the decorative stuff but were going to socially distance. They came back last week but are sharing a van, having lunch in there and obviously working as closely together as usual. They've probably had the 5 of them and 5 builders in the house at a time.

AIBU thinking my neighbours are flouting the rules here? The health and safety of people working in their house doesn't seem to matter.

Maybe not my business but I think they're going to need access from our side at the end of the project and am feeling uneasy.

We were due a landscaping project to start and our other neighbours were partway through a conservatory build that has been put on hold so can't just be me can it?

I don't think Cendrillon realised that during the inter war years, Churchill wrote columns in the papers attacking the Government for their lack of preparedness about Germany and warning about Hitler.

Otherwise she wouldn't be criticising people for doing exactly what Churchill did which was to criticise the Government and ask difficult questions about their actions.

Honestly I will post an example of one Telegraph front page compared to other papers on the day and you will see how far they go in trying to make him look thinner and more attractive.

The fact people refer to Corbyn is that’s who Boris was up against to win the election so had he had lost that’s who we would have .The new guy isn’t exactly getting people switching over just yet either
