I was stood outside supermarket.
A youngish man came right behind me.
Immediately I panic a bit and try and step a tiny bit forward as the line moved.
Then he coughed so I moved forward again.
Once again he moved forward.
So I snapped and said
"Sorry do you mind stepping back a bit, your too close and you need to keep a distance"
He gave me a dirty look and moved a tiny bit back.
I said thanks
What's so hard about keeping space between each other ?
Why can't some people manage it.

Next time I’ll throw myself on the floor and gnash my teeth too.

You could also have a bilious attack brought on by the stress of it all, we seem to have lost the art of them. It could be time for a revival.

I did this before corona because of anxiety. Once I had a go at a guy behind me at the hospital. He wanted to push in and was talking over me to the receptionist. It was making me really anxious and I put my hand out and said will you please step back. (Think of Stacey slater style)
The next time I went, I thought the receptionist was going to tell me off but she said she spent the rest of that day laughing. Wink

My mother used to say we were having a fit of the vapours.

Not to be confused with modern vapers, naturally.

Tbh I hope we never queue the way we have previously. It is a real eye opener. This will be the end of many high street stores, those not online will need to be there.

Well yesterday we had an old bloke really confused about paying some bills not observing social distancing and we (as a queue) didnt sob, panic , bark at him or get anxious just checked he could do it at the shop and let him go ahead.

Jesus wept. You sound dramatic 🙄 just as the to move back politely. No need to snap. That immediately gets people’s guard up.

I shouted at people twice yesterday when I was out for a walk. On their phones, oblivious to everyone around them. I also tell people off when they are walking two or three abreast and coming towards me.

mum11970 · 18/04/2020 10:08

Nope. If they were coughing and spluttering then I probably would but I’m not going to worry unnecessarily about someone passing by or standing a bit too close. Sobbing! Think some people need to stay indoors and ask someone else to do their shopping if they are that emotionally unstable.

I might adopt a new approach if anyone gets up in my space and tell them how excited I am as it’s my first trip out since having COVID-19. I’ll do a little hacking cough, give them an excited grin and hopefully watch them back the fuck up. If I team it with unbrushed hair and no make up, I imagine it’ll work like a charm.
