AIBU to think people should not smoke/vape in queue?

So the queue at Supermarket is quite a long snaking queue but people are smoking and vaping and I have to stand there and just accept it? I complained to the store and every little did not help as they said it’s in the car park. I’m stood 2m away with someone’s second hand vape billowing across - surely smoking in the queue should be stopped?

I think the point the OP is trying to make is that the virus is airborne and vaping blows particles from your mouth/lungs more than 2m away.

Sorry but what do you think breathing does 😂 the only difference is with smoke and vape you can see it. Peoples breath travels more than two meters.

The 2 meter rule is likely for cough droplets, that are heavier and will fall to the ground. If that's even a thing.

But either way - if vape travels 2 meters than I can 100% guarantee breath does.

Vaping as I said before, travels as far as a normally exhaled breath, you can just see it.

Vapers exhale nothing toxic asides from their own breath, surely if someone is vaping you can SEE their exhale and move away from it, can't do that with a non vaper.

As for the smell, well everyone has a smell, some people more so than others.

I'd like to consign to room 101, all those people who wear perfume so heavy it makes me choke, burns my nose and makes my eyes water. Someone stood outside my living room window the other day, a good 3 metres from it on the pavement... stank out my living room for 30 minutes their perfume was THAT strong!

But smells can't hurt you, so it's tough titty really!

YANBU. But there is a cohort of smokers who refuse to accept that smoking around other people is inconsiderate, selfish and irresponsible. Usually the same idiots that propogate the narrative that smokers are more fun than non smokers, non smokers are just kill joy miseries that want to spoil smokers enjoyment and other childish illogical whinges.

I wish I could put an invisible bag of smelly farts over the heads of everyone vaping and smoking in your queue today OP. Give them a taste of unsocial smelly air. Why shouldn't they breathe in my stinky farts for 40 minutes? It's only air really. They can wear a mask.

All those that think it is fine should go read up aerosol generating procedures and how they emit a high viral load, particles travel faster and further and stay in the air longer. So. NO it is not about the smell. You are putting others at a huge risk by smoking g and especially vaping in queues. I'm a dr and will not perform any procedure that might produce aerosols without the highest protection face mask and you put people at incredible risk by vaping in a queue.
I'd advise people to complain to staff and leave queues if nothing is done. Not worth the risk...
