What you are all doing today? It seems so quiet on here. I’m bored, so let me pinch your ideas for lockdown fun.

Is there a technique or a 'how to' guide on folding carrier bags into triangles?

CigarsofthePharoahs · 14/04/2020 15:04

Well this morning I conquered China and I've now built a coal mine and am starting a railway across my country.
I'm playing civilization vi on the computer, natch.

BuddhaAtSea · 14/04/2020 15:14

I managed to strip the bed and wash the bedding, load a dishwasher and turn it on and trim the dog’s hair. That is it. It’s gone 3!!!
I have a huge basket of ironing though, I’m going to put Unorthodox on and iron away.

Just finished eating a slice of the chocolate orange cake I baked for DH for his birthday. Trying to decide which craft activity will get DD away from cbeebies without her throwing a tantrum. DH is now working and cannot possibly be disturbed because it's really important and urgent, despite the fact that he's just spent 2 hours gardening and an hour playing a computer game.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 14/04/2020 16:02

So far this week I have:
•Made 3 different meals from scratch despite hating cooking
•Folded all the bags for life up into small triangles so that they fit neatly into one bag and take up less space in the crap cupboard by the back door
•Cut the grass even though it didn't really need it
•Given the summerhouse a much needed coat of paint which is something I have been putting off for ages because I hate painting and decorating. We'll have to give it a 2nd coat tomorrow
•Hoovered and tidied up a million times
•Done so much laundry that we're almost to the bottom of the basket Shock

I am bored!

Painted back garden fence. Saved the side fence for tomorrow - can't have too much excitement in one day lol!

Treaclepie19 · 14/04/2020 16:08

Playing Mario Party with my 4yo and DH.
DH is back to WFH tomorrow so making the most of it.

Done 3 loads of washing, 2 on the line, 2 loads of dishwasher, cleaned whole of kitchen, swept downstairs, played with dog. Done about 3 hours of uni work, watched last night's corrie, made lunch for all. Worried about asd dd who looks on the verge of a shutdown. All this after waking up feeling ill with a sudden headache and temp. Listening to so many people and cars outside, super busy in my area today.

Misty9 · 14/04/2020 16:18

I'm sat on the sofa trying to get up the motivation to go out for a cycle ride. Everything feels a bit lacking in purpose. I got up early and did pilates, made myself lunch, and then spent most of my time successfully avoiding writing a private work report. It's a holiday day for my usual work. Sun is out now so I really should go out...

Iooselipssinkships · 14/04/2020 16:25

Ligged out on garden sofa eating a white magnum and looking at my michelin man arms wishing I could lob them off.

Now contemplating 2nd magnum and realising why arms are so fat.

Susiesue61 · 14/04/2020 16:48

I got up ready for work and felt a bit hot, checked my temperature and it was over 38! So i have been for a Covid swab, read a bit of my book in the garden and tended to my 18 year old DD after she fell and skinned her knee 😊 I had 11 days off with a temperature 4 weeks ago, fed up of being off

IamHyouweegobshite · 14/04/2020 16:54

Similar to me @susiesue61, I woke up, shivering and freezing cold, then rapidly started burning up, temp 38.5. Had headache last night and slight sore throat. Last time I went out was Thurs to a chemist for antibiotics for dd, been ill on and off for nearly 5 weeks, terrible cough and asthma issues and so exhausted. Temp just under 37 now and still have headache. Fed up of feeling rough, but happy not to leave the house.

IamHyouweegobshite · 14/04/2020 16:55

Forgot to ask, how did you get a covid swab? Do u work for the NHS?

Susiesue61 · 14/04/2020 17:04

I work for the local hospice so had to grovel to be swabbed, although they weren't swabbing us when I was ill the first time. My chest has been tight the whole time since although I've been well enough to work

Pelleas · 14/04/2020 17:07

I've been working today. About to start making dinner shoving frozen pizza in oven.

Fluffybutter · 14/04/2020 17:22

Trying not to scratch my own eyes out.
Hayfever is on another level today !
Also trying to finish wrapping my dd’s presents for her birthday tomorrow but the cello tape is having other ideas

BlueJava · 14/04/2020 17:25

I've worked from home all day... made some biscuits at lunchtime for the kids and DP. Have now "commuted" back to sofa... thinking about putting the news on before I "commute" back for a 6:30pm work call.

It's been beautiful today - cold but very sunny with a lovely blue sky. Zero exciting things happened though.

Bagadverts · 14/04/2020 17:27

WFH - seems odd after an odd Easter holiday.

RingtheBells · 14/04/2020 17:42

I was at work today, non keyworker job, it was a bit dull as only a few people in because of wfh and those of us that are in are all distancing. Cooking dinner now.
