AIBU to think that the people clapping are Tory and UKIP voters who thought running down public services and ethnic staff wouldn't hurt them, but somebody else?

........ and they've now realised that they're as much in the firing line as anyone else?

I'm not going to say that Tory and UKIP voters are dumb cunts but.....oh no wait thats exactly what Im saying

Just imagine how dumb Labour must have been to lose the election to us then! Grin

FourTeaFallOut · 13/04/2020 15:16

Ffs, op Hmm

Is it stupidity or laziness that makes you assume that only people who you don't like do things that you don't like?

TheSmelliestHouse · 13/04/2020 15:18

Yabu to be so generalistic

roarfeckingroar · 13/04/2020 15:24

YABU and boring. Sod off.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 13/04/2020 15:25

Anyone who thinks people are clapping for anything other than to show support and appreciation to the NHS and other frontline staff are serious overthinkers and talking bollocks. It's not a political stance, it's just kindness and appreciation from the public

roarfeckingroar · 13/04/2020 15:26

@picsinred 👏👏👏👏👏👏

RishiSunakFanClub · 13/04/2020 15:42

Have no fear OP, as a Tory voter I have not and will not be clapping. I express my thanks and appreciation of NHS staff in other ways since I'm not into virtue signalling.

It must be hard to think straight when you are so consumed with disappointment and hatred.

TSSDNCOP · 13/04/2020 16:46

Ah come on Rishi I'm going to start doing it so it winds the frothers up.

livingmyslothlife · 13/04/2020 16:53

I voted Remain and Alliance am I allowed to clap? Hmm

TSSDNCOP · 13/04/2020 16:58

Nope, not unless your great-grandad voted for Ramsay Macdonald and you can prove it.

TotesGodsWill · 13/04/2020 17:01

YABU

It’s almost as if the people clapping for the NHS and frontline services aren’t a homogenous mass.

This must be at least the tenth thread on this none sense this week!

Clavinova · 13/04/2020 18:02

GhostofFrankGrimes
Congratulations on spectacularly missing the OP's point Clavinova.
The NHS is for life, not just for pandemics.

Your clip is from June 2017 (just after the general election) when Jeremy Corbyn tried to hijack the Queen's speech.

Corbyn; “We are now a government in waiting” and we must “remain in permanent campaign mode."

Your source doesn't appear to be correct about Tory MPs cheering either;

"Tim Farron accused DUP MPs of “cheering” while they withheld pay from public servants."

NHS workers received a pay rise the following year;

"More than one million NHS workers in England will receive a three-year pay deal worth 6.5% after staff voted in favour of the offer."

"Hospital cleaners, nurses, security guards, physiotherapists, emergency call handlers, paramedics, midwives, radiographers and other NHS staff across England will receive the rise."

I would think they deserve a bonus now as well.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 13/04/2020 18:50

Nice selective cut and pasting clavinova but the Tories newly found love of the nhs and health care workers is a complete contradiction to everything they've peddled in the last 10 years.

j712adrian · 13/04/2020 22:48

“We are all bored of these types of thread.”

Probably not as bored as the NHS staff I’ve worked with over the last 38 years who have been undervalued and put down by the likes of Tories and UKIP.

Good job we don’t need those foreign doctors, isn’t it? Or to take responsibility for our voting choices?

Ahhh i see

So if someone claps you know for a FACT that they voted tory or ukip and they are a leaver

Wow...mad skills

j712adrian · 13/04/2020 22:55

Interesting as well that a number of folks here have assumed I’m a Labour supporter.

Guess what. I’m not.

Thanks for revealing your own biases and virtue signalling in your goady posts.

Have you actually posted the above in a none ironical way?

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 13/04/2020 23:00

I have a feeling that should be non Grin

To be fair i do think its very stupid when people do this

ItsAllTheDramaMickIJustLoveIt · 13/04/2020 23:06

Give it a rest will you. If you don’t want to clap then don’t, if others do then let them get on with it. Why does this make people so angry?

FWIW in the run up to the GE in December it was wall to wall labour supporter posters up in the neighbourhood I live in. Didn’t see a single Tory or UKIP. Loads of people on my street and the ones next to us come out and clap.

TSSDNCOP · 13/04/2020 23:48

Guess what. I’m not.

Ooooooooooh! What are ya?

Hmm
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/04/2020 00:17
