To throw my dog a birthday party (at a social distance)

I admit, I think I have finally lost the plot. My dog is 1 today. She literally saved my life after years of infertility. She is my world and one very spoiled pupper.
I've bought her gifts, which I have been giving her slowly through the day so she doesn't get over stimulated.......I designed an invite online, I've made her a birthday cake, I'm currently getting all dressed up for a virtual party with her (and my) friends !!! AIBU or should this be a tradition (lol)

Happy birthday pupper.

I've suffered with infertility and its heartbreaking. I do have a ds, through IVF, and a failed round in Jan 2019. I have 3 dogs, Irish wolfhound, GSD and Great dane. Oldest is 2 in October, and yes they have cakes and a birthday party.

YANBU. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUPPER. HAVE A GREAY DAY XXX

Yadnbu it was ddogs birthday earlier this week and I made her wrapping paper and brought her a toy. The whole while thinking of all those threads on mn where people who strop about not getting card are thrown to the lions.

This sounds lovely, happy birthday to her!

I recommend a Facebook page called "disapproving corgis". Its my happy place. Their dogs always have birthday celebrations so you may find your people there (even if you don't have a corgi - they are not all but they are all beautiful and uplifting)

Happy birthday to your pup!
I bake mine a birthday cake and when I cancelled our holiday due to coronavirus I was pleased we'd be home on his birthday now Blush
Enjoy the party

Happy birthday to your pup! It's a lovely idea. My dog is the most spoilt dog ever (picture for tax) and will definitely be having a birthday party this year :')

Also loving the irony of a pp having ‘free to do what I want’ in their name but then slating others for their choicesWink

Don't see a reason why not. Last year I threw a birthday party for my dog's first birthday. Invited his doggy chums (& owners) from my estate & baked a dog suitable birthday cake which they all enjoyed (the humans less so - was pretty rank).

Completely bonkers of course but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless.

And obligatory birthday snap (the hat wasn't on for long!)

@ImFreeToDoWhatIWant

Funny though that your comment is in the minority when everyone else is telling her to do it Smile

whoamitojudge · 12/04/2020 17:30

@NoveltyFunsies
That is what I thought

I've been to a birth day party for a dog, was great fun

Had a big dog cake (for dogs) - was in a pub with champers and nibbles

Any excuse to celebrate Grin
