To throw my dog a birthday party (at a social distance)

I admit, I think I have finally lost the plot. My dog is 1 today. She literally saved my life after years of infertility. She is my world and one very spoiled pupper.
I've bought her gifts, which I have been giving her slowly through the day so she doesn't get over stimulated.......I designed an invite online, I've made her a birthday cake, I'm currently getting all dressed up for a virtual party with her (and my) friends !!! AIBU or should this be a tradition (lol)

Go for it if it makes you feel happy! Post pics though, absolutely required!

qazxc · 12/04/2020 05:23

As long as you, dog and friends are having fun, what's the harm?
It's a bit eccentric, but that's not a bad thing IMHO.

Lllot5 · 12/04/2020 05:27

You’re completely off your rocker. But the best people always are. Can we see some pics please.

Marshmallow91 · 12/04/2020 06:58

Happy birthday Pooch!
Definitely need pictures!!

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 12/04/2020 07:09

You're joking right?! 😂😂😂 Very good for a wind up! 😂😂😂

Otherwise yes, you have lost the plot. It's an animal and deserves to be treated with love, kindness and respect, but it is absolutely not a human being. Come on now!

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 12/04/2020 11:12

I think this is brilliant Grin If you're all having fun, then why not?

iklboo · 12/04/2020 11:33

@LunaLula83 I hope that's a dog biscuit.

Jammydodger1981 · 12/04/2020 12:14

Go for it! But I think getting dressed up for the party at 4.30am is a bit far.

Ofalltheginjoints · 12/04/2020 13:00

Awww hope your dog has an amazing party!
Our boy has toe parties a year, his estimated birthday and his Gotcha day, dog cake included!

whoamitojudge · 12/04/2020 13:02

@ImFreeToDoWhatIWant Leave the OP alone, if she wants to do it then let her. There was no need for that sort of comment.

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 12/04/2020 13:36

@whoamitojudge She asked a question, on AIBU, and I answered. 😂😂😂 "That sort of comment indeed" 😂😂😂

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 12/04/2020 13:44

I always celebrate my cats birthday, and her 'coming home' day.
Today she has cat milk as an Easter Treat, and I'm about to go and give the chickens a vegetable kebab on a string for their Easter Treat.

Who gives a shit what anyone else thinks!

Do it! Sounds like she’s an excellent pup and deserves a party for being excellent!

And frankly, if you’re going to throw a dog a party for a bit of fun, the middle of a worldwide pandemic is the time to do it!

sonjadog · 12/04/2020 13:55

Sure, why not?! If it enables you and your friends to laugh together for a while, it sounds like a good event to me.
