'A top vaccine doctor who was ousted from his position in April is expected to testify Thursday that the Trump administration was unprepared for the coronavirus, and that the U.S. could face the "darkest winter in modern history" if it doesn't develop a national coordinated response, according to prepared testimony first obtained by CNN.'

The coronavirus rapid test that has been used in the WH has a substantial number of false negatives.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions from this.

thehill.com/homenews/administration/497721-appeals-court-rules-against-trump-on-emoluments-clause

'A federal appeals court on Thursday ruled against President Trump in a lawsuit alleging that he's violated the Constitution's emoluments clauses.

The decision from the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals keeps the case alive, rejecting the president's efforts to preserve immunity from the suit, which was filed by the attorneys general from Washington, D.C. and Maryland.'

So does Trump understand that this would be shooting himself in the foot! It would destroy his argument that presidents aren't required to respond to subpoenas and it would give Obama a platform to utterly destroy Trump.

This >>

These members of Congress who are treating Dr. Bright like he's some kind of criminal are shameful caricatures of the worst kind of politician. One just suggested that he's "deceiving the American people" by taking sick leave to deal with the stress of whistleblower retaliation.

I am tired of watching slick snake oil politicians sneering at loyal public servants. It's all a game to them, and they don't care what they destroy, including the republic. Some aren't worthy to lie prostrate on the ground in sackcloth before the witnesses and beg forgiveness.

Burr has now stepped down as Senate Intel Chairman 'during the pending investigation'.

Re the Sioux blocking roads on the rez. Tribal lands are considered to be separate and sovereign and tribes are entitled to form their own laws and police their own lands as they see fit.

"Tribal sovereignty refers to the right of American Indians and Alaska Natives to govern themselves. The U.S. Constitution recognizes Indian tribes as distinct governments and they have, with a few exceptions, the same powers as federal and state governments to regulate their internal affairs." It's quite bizarre reading transcripts of his waffling, lies, and tantrums on The White House site. They are accurate in reporting exactly what was spoken, I always wonder what the transcriber thinks.

BTW, Joe and Stacey Abrams were on L. O'Donnell last night. They really came off well together.

Maybe I'm just lockdown-crazy now, but that was really funny!

It's the epitome of Trumpeyism: "Got the name for the smear... haven't thought up the crime for it yet."

It's strange that there's been so little about StacyA as VP on Twitter. The build up to who Biden was going to pick was enormous, and then he picked... and nothing!
Great choice though? She was robbed wasn't she in her seat or whatever you call it

Truckers are sounding their horns very loudly in background at the WH in some sort of protest. I'm not sure if it's pro or anti Trump but he seems a bit flustered.

PerkingFaintly · 15/05/2020 18:36

Wasn't that Nixon's moment of enlightenment? Hearing car horns as he sat in the Oval Office, and realising that that ordinary folk were pissed off with his shenanigans and it wasn't just going to be business as usual?

Maybe the dam will break.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/president-donald-trump-republican-voters-a9517521.html

'A new poll has revealed that nearly a quarter of Republicans think that the party should nominate someone other than president Donald Trump as their 2020 presidential nominee.

The poll, by Ramussen Reports, found that 23 per cent of likely Republican voters want the GOP to deny the president the chance of running for a second term, by nominating a different candidate.

According to the organisation, who conduct surveys nationwide, 70 per cent said that Mr Trump should be the Republican candidate, while seven per cent were undecided.'
