Bruce I can think of people in my own life who operate in this way, from observing them it seems to me that what happens is is when they are challenged with anything that doesn't fit their agenda something happens at the unconscious level and they block it out and refuse to accept it, a bit like when anger rises and you can't think clearly.

No legs/leg buds on the tadpoles at this stage. There are scads of them! We don't remember ever seeing so many. Although with the lockdown we're spending more time sitting by the pond so maybe we've just not noticed before.

I'm going to have to google tadpole life stages and figure out how 'old' they are. Right now they're about 'nickel sized' not including the tail.
