The fucking Aldi toilet paper I've been using for the past 2 weeks is fucking scented! What fresh hell is this?? I only noticed when I blew my nose, why the fuck do we need scented toilet paper?

Malvinaa81 · 10/04/2020 23:15

Don't use it then. And stop whining.

wonderrotunda · 10/04/2020 23:16

It’s not only that...but the extra chemical pollution caused by scents and dyes. Not like people haven’t been banging on about all this stuff since the 1970’s. Grrrrr

TokyoSushi · 10/04/2020 23:19

So I must be the only person according to this thread, but I actually like it, especially the coconut one - makes the bathroom smell lovely and no irritation here!

Never have and never will try scented sanpro though, surely there's no need!

Bumblebee413 · 10/04/2020 23:19

I just assume that I used to get really sore and raw labia because of the hormones during my period. Switching from always and all the chemicals they contain was such an eye opener. I couldn't believe it. Why are people doing this to our poor foofs?

NoClarification · 10/04/2020 23:19

I bought some by accident pre-pandemic and actually had to keep them in the car until I had space in the bin for them. They smelled so bad it was stinking the entire downstairs of the house out. I can't believe this revolting stuff actually gets bought on purpose by anyone, let alone put near any sensitive areas.

Catforaheadrest · 10/04/2020 23:20

I was today years old when I discovered that scented is bad Blush

But yes. This might explain my oddly sore fanjo. I’d been choosing it because I actually do like the smell Confused

Okay, never again, fanjo’s honour.

midsomermurderess · 10/04/2020 23:21

When the lockdown started scented toilet paper was all I could find. Once I got it out of the packaging I understood why it had been left on the shelf. I could smell it all over the flat.It almost made me gag.

Appiandterri · 10/04/2020 23:25

I just bought an Aldi 24 pack
On my way to bed so will check it tomorrow
BUT - it had better not be scented!

Yester · 10/04/2020 23:30

Vile. The company owners should be made to sit naked on nettles and not moan about it.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/04/2020 23:30

We got coconut toilet roll as a substitution in an online order before lockdown started. I kept it for emergency use. DP keeps saying we are fine for loo roll because it’s still in the hall cupboard, but I am afraid of it. I just know that way thrush lies.

LochJessMonster · 10/04/2020 23:32

I was convinced I’d gotten an STI or some sort of infection once and was just on the brink of making a very embarrassing appointment with the gp when I realised the smell was from the scented toilet paper not me Blush

Wauden · 10/04/2020 23:33

'Parfum' is a twee word anyway when using in that context. 💩

MitziK · 10/04/2020 23:34

At work, we had the free sanitary towels delivery a couple of months ago. Enough for 1600 girls for three months, so my entire office and storage room were lined with a wall of the things. Strangely, nobody else wanted to store them in their offices, so, as the lowest minion of all minions, I had to keep them all with me.

I have never felt so bloody ill as when having to work in my prison of period perfume.

I hoyed the lot into a storeroom away from the main building (and more importantly, me) one afternoon after work. The stench is so strong that you can't open the door if anybody with asthma is within 30 paces.

LilacTree1 · 10/04/2020 23:34

In Aldi?? Thanks for the warning. Until I read about it on MN, I didn’t know scented toilet paper existed and I certainly didn’t think my little Aldi would stock it.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 10/04/2020 23:34

I like the coconut one, it is nice quality and I don't notice it being scented?

OkPedro · 10/04/2020 23:37

CBD infused tampons?!

malvina Are you new here? 😁

JemimaPuddleCat · 10/04/2020 23:38

Always Discreet incontinence pads have recently become scented too.
I want my fanny to smell like a fanny - not a meadow!

Ticklemelmo · 10/04/2020 23:40

Oh I do like a scented loo roll, it feels like a treat.

MrsSnitchnose · 10/04/2020 23:42

So I must be the only person according to this thread, but I actually like it, especially the coconut one - makes the bathroom smell lovely and no irritation here!

Nope, me too. I use the shea butter shades ones from Asda

VioletRose20 · 10/04/2020 23:43

Omg the burn!
My body goes to war with scented pads or loo roll

DrivingMsCrazy · 10/04/2020 23:45

Oh crap. I've got a pack of, I think, scented loo roll from Home Bargains that DH bought. He never reads labels, just grabs whatever is in front of him. It's in the spare cupboard. Shall I check or just set fire to it now? Grin

EngagedAgain · 10/04/2020 23:50

Yes can't see the point but especially scented san pro. Or wipes come to that. It's like an obsession to be rid of any possible dreadful smell we might make!

TheSandgroper · 10/04/2020 23:50

Well, it’s 6.50 am and I have learnt something new. Toilet paper has an ingredients list.

I

Sha33le · 10/04/2020 23:52

Hilarious post ... thanks OP and everyone 🤣

NearlyGranny · 10/04/2020 23:54

Everyone's mucus membranes are sensitive it's their job. Manufacturers are clearly nuts. Toilet smells are best banished via an open window or exhaust fan if the room is windowless. If we like nice smells we can pick a candle - that won't inflame our membranes.

I am a decade and a half past menopause exactly but recently needed external sanpro due to a medical procedure and was shocked to find what I'd bought was both scented and individually wrapped. Crazy over-development of a simple product!
