You keep stuffing them in your mouth while saying "These are kind of disgusting, aren't they crunch munch? So weird crunch munch. I don't think I like them munch munch munch"

Twiglets are amazing! They are my early evening snack before dinner choice Grin

I never realised that having a washing up bowl was a British quirk.

So many Australian friends come to my house and ask what it is for. We have always had one- it is just the way it is.

(I do have a dishwasher too)

Nowhere did I say I was an expert or said that England was more important

Although it is.

or the only country in the UK.

It just about is (having nine tenths of the UK's population.

It is a recent quirk of the UK that foreigners are expected to be permanently aware of the the rather complicated and obscure way that the UK is made up, and then slaughtering them if they appear to be unaware.

When I was a child we would have holidays in the UK often and my parents rented a home or cottage. My mum was quite shocked when she saw carpet floors in bathrooms and toilets. She was revolted when she saw fabric toilet cover seats.
We never saw these things outside the UK.

Also, I am quite surprised by how much the British love fake tan. Nothing wrong with having a very light skin imo.
Also, I noticed British women often wear too much makeup. I wonder if they still like their natural face if they are always wearing what I consider as a mask of cosmetics.

I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned but your showers! Every shower seems to work differently and it's honestly bizarre to me. Here (Australia) we just turn on our taps and water comes out of the shower head. No weird wall mounted boxes or 'pull this string' to make it work Grin

My American DH was puzzled as to why he had to bring in cake(s) to the office on his birthday - "But it's MY birthday, why do I need to bring in cake.." Confused

He has observed how Brits love talking/planning their holidays, thinks marmite is the food of the gods and has introduced Yorkshire puddings to his stateside family who now adore them.

I live in Switzerland and no one believes me when I tell them you can get a third of a bottle of wine in one glass in the UK. Here the standard measure is 100ml Hmm
