To ask DH to cut my hair?

I have really long hair that I am not enjoying in lockdown - uses loads of shampoo, takes ages to dry etc.

WIBU to ask DH to cut me a ‘long bob’ with the kitchen scissors?*

*Disclaimer I fully realise this is probably the least important thing in the world right now.

Just catching up with this thread - thanks so much everyone, it’s made me Grin in the midst of all this.

Loved the photos and stories of disastrous haircuts!

To those who asked - I think my long hair has started to annoy me partly because I’ve been ill (with the dreaded virus I think) and it suddenly seemed too tiring to wash/dry it. Now I’m better the feeling has persisted!

Plus I think I’m bored tbh 😉
Will order hairdressing scissors I think and ask for a ‘self isolation special’ 😊

Don’t do it! I made this mistake - though I asked for a trim and got a bob!!

I've just done the dog

In true home hairdressing fashion I cut one side, then the other, oh too long this side, too long this side, ad nauseam

She is now looking at me reproachfully with an uneven beard Grin

For years I cut my own hair until my sister did a few hairdressing courses and now she does it. I still do my own fringe though. I also cut DH's and DS1's hair myself and will eventually do DS2 when he finally grows enough! Just watch a few YouTube videos together so that you know what you're doing and maybe don't use the kitchen scissors. Order some hairdressing ones online. They might take ages to come in the current situation but it'll give you time to make sure you definitely want him to cut it for you!

Also, don't expect him to be able to create the exact hairstyle you want first time!

Just done mine, I halved it at the back, pulled it all round the front and cut it, was a bit scary! DH then, very reluctantly, tidied it up. It looks fine

My hair was very long, still actually is, and naturally curly. If it wasn’t for that I doubt I’d have attempted it
