100%

iklboo · 07/04/2020 13:34

It loses its meaning if it's every flipping week or for any reason.

Rebelwithallthecause · 07/04/2020 13:40

Are people in Spain not getting tired of doing it every night?

langkaw · 07/04/2020 13:40

I'm on crutches because of a broken leg. I got clapped on my way to the pharmacy this morning by a couple shouting 'well done!'

It made me laugh though.

mrsfury · 07/04/2020 13:42

I am in the canaries and we clap every night at 7pm

YangShanPo · 07/04/2020 13:42

The clap has gone viral in the UK.

tootiredtoconga · 07/04/2020 13:49

I wish it was just clapping! Round here it's clapping, fireworks, people banging pots and pans. But if you don't like it then you obviously hate the NHS Hmm.
As a one off it was fine, a nice gesture. But every week is too much, it feel forced.

DrWAnker · 07/04/2020 13:49

Where have you been??

Clap thread

Devlesko · 07/04/2020 13:51

Can't say as I've noticed tbh. the only thing I heard about clapping was on here.
I don't really care what others do if it makes them feel better to clap then that's good for them, surely.

meow1989 · 07/04/2020 13:58

sniggers at giving people "the clap" it's silly isnt it. Though to be fair I only heard about clapping for bojo on here. I hope he gets better soon, but I certainly won't be clapping for him.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 07/04/2020 14:03

Its annoying as fuck

BlackCatSleeping · 07/04/2020 14:03

I agree that once was a lovely gesture but clapping for everything is just over the top.

Stampy84 · 07/04/2020 14:07

Couldn’t agree more. Clapping for kids?
I’d rather get diseased with The Clap, then have to keep clapping 👏🏻

Fedupandpoor · 07/04/2020 14:12

I like it! It's our crappy version of the Italians singing on the balconies. I would much prefer we all gathered to sing Bella Caio together every night though.

Bakedbrie · 07/04/2020 14:13

Very happy to give up a few minutes to clap people sweating it out on the frontline. A few have come on media to say how much it means to them - cos lets face it, it’s not the great pay or working conditions that are keeping them going right now is it?

1forAll74 · 07/04/2020 14:21

No more clapping. People in my village clap, and then a while after, lots of them put photo's of themselves clapping on the FB community page.
Some ask eachother if they are going to clap in the day, and then say, see you later then. ha ha.

The sheep are in the streets, instead of the fields !

Holothane · 07/04/2020 14:49

No. Can’t be bothered with it, sorry but better pay rises for the nhs would be much better.

Bluesheep8 · 07/04/2020 14:53

*x2boys

I also think the threads about clapping are getting out of hand tbh...*

Brilliant pun! I cane in to say it was a load of clap trap right from the start.

Bluesheep8 · 07/04/2020 14:54

came on to say

iwantmyownicecreamvan · 07/04/2020 17:09

Clapping's out of hand Grin

HeresMe · 07/04/2020 17:30

The first time for the NHS was fine, it doesn't need to be everyweek, it loses meaning the more you do it.

There is also shine a torch on Fridays ect

unchienandalusia · 07/04/2020 17:34

it's utterly reduced the original meaning, it's so diluted now! I'm knocked for six about the PM and have found myself very emotional about it. But I'm not clapping, fuck that. I wish him my best in my own (quiet, not-instragrammed) way. That is enough.

Northernwarrior · 07/04/2020 17:39

I wonder if Boris has ever got the clap- since he seems to shove it in anyone that allows him.

TimeForDinnerDinnerDinner · 07/04/2020 17:43

I've had enough of it.

spacewitch99 · 07/04/2020 18:00

I am all clapped out. I have clap fatigue.
