Washing your car in the street

So my next-door neighbor has a son who doesn't live with her (he lives around the corner) but who parks his car on her drive, as he has a property that opens straight onto a road with no parking available.

He is still coming and going to and from his mother's house and today decided to move his car off the drive and on to the road to wash it. This, of course, meant that no one could safely use the footpath and maintain a proper 2-metre distance.

I am part of the 12 weeks isolated vulnerable group so no chance I could have a word (even from a safe distance as I am not supposed to go outside at all). I've just been telling my DS on the phone and he says I should have reported him. I'm usually a live and let live sort of person, but honestly, someone like him could actually be the literal death of someone like me, someone who cannot isolate properly as I am and has to go out for food shopping etc. And anyway, I'm sick to death of the "it doesn't apply to me I have a good reason to do what I'm doing, so I'm a special case" idiots out there.

So what is your view ?
Report = YANBU
Ignore his selfishness = YABU

I don’t think that’s a big deal at all. Would have hardly took him all day.

I think being stuck inside is getting to you. I can't see how this is problematic.

IndecentFeminist · 05/04/2020 19:25

Honestly, someone is unlikely to catch it from walking past him, unless he was in full throes of it and coughed/sneezed in their face.

Toddlertown · 05/04/2020 19:28

Walk in the road to go round him? You do know how to cross roads right? Hmm worlds gone mad.

doodleygirl · 05/04/2020 19:30

Really, this is what you use your brain cells for? This time of crisis is bringing out the fuckwits in more ways than one!

GreenWheat · 05/04/2020 19:33

Just walk on the actual road! I live on a B road and it's so quiet I could walk the full length in the middle of the road without meeting a car.

Nicknacky · 05/04/2020 19:39

How exactly are you upsetting people?

LittleLittleLittle · 05/04/2020 19:39

YABU

My neighbour washed his car today.

He stood next to mine and looked around in case someone came near him on the wide pavement we (legally) park on.

No one did by the time he went back inside.

It doesn't take long to wash a car and surely he's capable of moving himself out the way if people needed to pass?
