You know the ones. Screaming at posters for talking to a neighbour across the street or for taking their child shopping when they have no alternatives. The ones who believe they know better than the WHO and that the virus flies 10m through the air. The ones is truly believe if you live next to massive open fields that you can't walk in them twice a day.

This situation is serious and we must follow the rules. But common sense and science must prevail and Mumsnet has gone insane and largely unbearable since this started.

That’s the best link I can find at the moment. As a PP said they’re looking at work done by MIT. It’s changed our work policy on PPE overnight, but off the top of my head I can’t remember if that decision came from PHE or from work itself.

But coughing and sneezing would be the mechanism for forcing virus particles that far. They wouldn’t need wings.

Well today I have been out shopping which was needed.

I also had to walk DS today who is 17 and autistic. He hasn’t been out for two days and I usually walk him round the block to the duck pond and back.

Today I drove (yes drove) to the nearby country park. There were three cars in the car park and I onky saw people from a distance. Obviously had the car park been packed we’d have done the walk to the duck pond and back.

Social distancing maintained in all cases but....

I drove to exercise today (first time)
I bought wine, chocolate etc with the essentials.

Both the above are enough to have some here frothing at the gusset and hefting bosoms.

That’s what’s annoying me.

I’m home now. We won’t need shopping for at least a week or more (although I may have to go out for my elderly parents if they need anything).

We will visit the ducks again over the weekend (no need to drive to get there) and see how the ducklings are doing.

not just listening to Hancock etc they’re trying to balance deaths with the economy

What a lot of people don't seem to connect is that if we have covid19 + bankruptcy then we're much more fucked with regards to the number of deaths than we are with covid19 + a working economy.

As it's been put elsewhere, it's not balancing lives with the economy, it's balancing lives with lives.

CalamityShame · 03/04/2020 17:34

Even if we do defeat covid19, the number of deaths from the resultant poverty and such could be far above covid fatalities, and be a rate of premature deaths that lasts for years.

Yeah, they need their own corner right next to the Judgy Pants shop!

ErrolTheDragon and LilacTree1 I found the board! A much saner and calmer place, thank you!

I guess if we're going to post something expressing annoyance with the Pearl clutchers we'd have to post it under an entirely different title as they've infiltrated this thread too. Grin
