To tell all of those who are still out and about unnecessarily to wisen up

Too many people still don't seem to be taking this seriously. Well, my husband has now become one of the statistics. He was taken to hospital on Monday evening and was dead by last night. I don't know where he picked it up but it didn't take long to go downhill fast.

As I am currently working in ICU I understand your frustration OP. Every one of our patients is Covid19 +ve. All intubated. Only a small proportion of the 50 are expected to recover. I'm talking less than 5. They are not all old or have underlying health problems. Their families will not be with them when they die. Maybe one member may be allowed. That's not counting those on the ward or in the community.

The peak has yet to happen here. It's heartbreaking already.

So many people still think it's just the flu.

When you feel the time is right, I can recommend the bereavement board. The folks on there helped me through the loss of my parents and it felt so healing to talk about them to people who didn’t know them!

Sadly, I think it will take a lot of people to lose someone they know to take it as seriously as they should. So sorry, I hope you are not on your own at the moment. x
