Does anyone think that Boris Johnson looks really unwell.

OP posts:
Oakmaiden · 31/03/2020 23:16

I think he should do a daily video if he isn't going to run the press conference.

The man is ill, we don't need him to do a video every day just for the sake of it. It is not like he will tell us something that nobody else can tell us.

Frankly, I think the man missed his calling and should have been a comedian or chat show host. I used to like him on Have I Got News, but really don't like his politics.

Knocksomesense · 31/03/2020 23:16

I imagine you would have to summon some sort of black humour during such a stressful and worrying time

1forsorrow · 31/03/2020 23:22

1forsorrow step up then and take over from him if you know all the answers in dealing with this. Do you think I need the military to help me stage a coup or shall I just ask him to move over so I can take over. Do you think him joking about the "last gasp programme" is appropriate? Do you think his govt failing to ensure there is enough PPE is OK, even though they keep coming on TV and telling us it is all sorted? If that is the sort of leadership you want well you got your dream, some of expect more and some (NHS frontline) deserve more.

magicfarawaytrees · 31/03/2020 23:28

To be honest, I agree with a previous poster who said a dark humour is probably needed at the moment.

The NHS- it’s been massively underfunded for YEARS. By the Tory government. All this save your NHS stuff is really getting under my skin now for that reason. Like I say I’m no fan of his or his party. But as I said earlier the comments about him on here are disgusting. He is a human being and to wish death on him is gross.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 31/03/2020 23:31

Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameleon and all that

Well surely karma, works both ways. You act glad someone is ill and it’s coming your way......

How anyone be be glad and think this is karma (for what exactly I’m not sure??) is beyond me. We are all human and to be glad someone has a virus that is killing people makes you a disgusting person

AJGranny · 31/03/2020 23:31

It blows my mind that some people think he's doing a good job. There's literally a road map for him to follow as to how to manage the situation to minimise deaths. He's either deliberately chosen not to follow it or is incompetent. Both things disqualify him as a good leader.

SirChing · 31/03/2020 23:38

Boris can have said some awful things AND be doing a shit job in terms of not ordering PPE and ventilators in time AND still be a human who it is sick to wish karma upon.

More than one thing can be true at once, and people's glee and implications that he shouldn't get any sympathy are pathetic. It's possible to have sympathy for different people for different reasons. It's not a fucking finite resource.

Stuckfornow · 31/03/2020 23:38

@Moonlite interesting article here about what may cause the more severe response and some info who who initially appears to be more at risk, age and health have been identified as factors but genes and your autoimmune response are thought to play a part. Obviously this is all early stage research and some conclusions drawn from the viruses similarity to SARS and MERS.

www.google.com/amp/s/www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/why-some-covid-19-cases-are-worse-than-others-67160/amp

SirChing · 31/03/2020 23:40

@Moonlite Some research has shown that people with blood type A are hit harder than those with blood type O. Which could also account for the disparity.

Stuckfornow · 31/03/2020 23:52

Also a theory that men are more likely to be severely affected than women, as was the case for SARS and MERS however this may be due to a higher percentage of smokers and not enough data has been collected yet for this to be conclusive.

Moonlite · 01/04/2020 00:09

@SirChing interesting. I'm O negative and my OH is A positive and he has been diagnosed (by phone with GP not through actual testing) he has had it really badly, hallucinating with high temp and chest on fire with constant headache and dry cough, yet I've had nothing as yet, I'm so frightened I'll get it. Hes on day 6 and is slowly recovering but still struggling

Moonlite · 01/04/2020 00:12

@Stuckfornow interesting read. Seems to be the luck of the draw unfortunately

Thinkinghappythoughts · 01/04/2020 06:04

I haven't read anyone being gleeful about Boris Johnson getting covid-19.

But many have rightly pointed out that he hasn't done a good job and he has made decisions that WILL result in more people dying than would have done. Just because someone is sick doesn't mean you have to lie and say how great you think they are.

Sick or not I think he is an arse for a prime minister. I view I had before he got elected, during brexit WA, during the floods and no doubt when he gets better.

Although fair's fair, he's (or the Chancellor) have been generous helping financially.

Thinkinghappythoughts · 01/04/2020 06:17

Thinking about it though. He clearly couldn't be bothered to listen to the experts he relied on to advise the nation - social distancing and hand shaking.

It could be viewed by some as amusing, arrogant and/or idiotic.

cornishdreams1 · 01/04/2020 06:33

Boris looks like he has coronavirus (lots of people called him a liar on mn which was baffling) and I sincerely hope he is feeling much better now.

I wish he would rest a little more, and take it easy.

cornishdreams1 · 01/04/2020 06:35

thinking I think you will find he was just following the advice. That is why we have a chief medical officer! As any government would do they take instructions from the experts.

Fallsballs · 01/04/2020 07:28

He’s an ugly shit if he’s sick or well.
Why would he suddenly become concerned about a woman he fucked being pregnant ? He’s had enough practice at this stage.

He’s one man I wouldn’t worry about, Johnson will be ok, like he always is.

Thinkinghappythoughts · 01/04/2020 07:28

No he wasn't. He was talking about shaking hands and not social distancing when everyone was told to. He was on tv. We could see.

pippong · 01/04/2020 07:31

Why is Boris still working when he's sick with corona? Shouldn't he be resting up for a quick recovery?

Bluntness100 · 01/04/2020 07:32

I think if he’s dialling in and chairing meetings he’s not that sick, so should be seen as positive.

BrooHaHa · 01/04/2020 09:41

I cant understand why both boris and prince charles both have mild versions of the virus and are able to continue working yet an extremely healthy gym going 35 year old father of 3 in my town (who doesnt smoke or have underline health issues) is currently in an induced come and on a ventilator and his family are begging for prayers he pulls through. Call me a tin foil hat wearer but something doesnt sit right with me.

It's luck, like anything. Chickenpox has killed previously healthy people, as has the flu. It just doesn't for most. Plus the virus can take a while to kill people.

If that's true, he should be prosecuted.

For what? Poor taste?

Saddler · 01/04/2020 09:43

Yeah he doesn't look well. Get well soon doing a fantastic job

Fallsballs · 01/04/2020 10:16

I think you have need to take your temperature Saddler and get to Specsavers for hearing and sight tests.

PileofToss · 01/04/2020 16:06

I’d love to hear more about this “fantastic job” he’s doing Hmm

SerendipityJane · 01/04/2020 16:11

I’d love to hear more about this “fantastic job” he’s doing

I'm sure he'd be more than happy to tell you at great length ...
