Right I know there’s people who would love to be in this position so I’m not complaining, but I’ve been working from home since last Monday along with the rest of my team. Work has totally dried up yet we are required to log on for 8 hours each day as usual. For now we have been told to “file emails” and this has only taken about ten minutes to do! I’m not sure why we haven’t been “furloughed”. I’m currently drinking a gin and tonic and watching Hayu with my laptop propped up on my knees!!! Is anyone else in this position?

I'm busier than normal while monitoring homeschooling. There is little down time ..I wish I was in a job I could be furloughed to support my kids during the scary time

Work is pretty much business as usual but from home and trying to juggle this with a toddler... Frazzled isn’t the word!

twinkletits99 · 31/03/2020 20:25

@cocodomingo yep furlough would be nice right about now!

BlackForestCake · 31/03/2020 20:30

Nope, I'm working harder and longer now than when I'm in the office.

Busier than ever with 70% of staff furloughed and the rest of us trying to do our own work and make up the esential aprts of the jobs of furloughed staff.

I am having meetings with hysterical clients who want everything done as it would normally be done.

Last night I finally put my office phone on do not disturb at 9.20 because I had been run off my feet with clients.

Our business is collapsing though so it will probably only be for another few weeks.

I earn under 19K a year so feel like I am being exploited to be honest. The furloughed staff were mostly put on so the business could save costs, not because they could not actually do their jobs.

Dh works in pensions and has been super busy as a new piece of legislation is coming out apparently. He is doing more hours than he normally would.
